Incredibly Powerful and PoignantKen Burns’ latest documentary project is a masterpiece. It is an eloquently told history with objective and methodologically sound evidence to back it up. The mirror that it holds to face of our world and to the United States, in particular, casts an image that should distress the viewer and yet provide many salient points for comparison with our times. These are lessons that many have thought were long since learned. A collective wisdom of nations and experience that would never happen again. Sadly, the echoes of the 1930s and 1940s reverberate powerfully with the hateful period of political discourse and growing conflagrations we see world wide. Burns should be heartily congratulated for this vividly told story and the way in which it captures voices of those that lived through that worst of all chapters in human history; particularly whilst there are still voices front hat era that live. I fear greatly that once those voices have vanished, so too will the lessons of that era be forgotten..Score: 5/5
