High PricesThe reason why the prices are higher is because it is a 1:00 HBO show, which means some weeks episodes are actually an hour long. It may seem unfair, but if a regular tv episode is 22 minutes and $2, it isn't so bad for the price to be $3 for a 50 minute episode. Great First SeasonThe one that started it all. As far as I am concerned, after season 2, the series only got better and better. Each episode from season 3 on was an absolute masterpiece. One of my favorite seasonsJames Gandolfini did an excellent job of acting on this season. Especially the episode 46 Long with Nancy Marchand and the ending scene in Down Neck. Start from the beginning...Terrific show, this is where you begin. compared to the other seasons, its not quite 5 stars but its only because its laying the groundwork for the future. the godfather references are painfully plenty and has the only "before opening title scene" in the entire show that totally lacks direction. its a bit like the first film of a triogy, its preparing, building up momentem. these are minor quibbles though, once you'll start watching the show, you'll probably continue to. DVD is the place to do it though. £24 to watch one of the greats on a small screen is too much of a payoff, the dvds can be easily found for less..Score: 4/5

The most consistantly excellent TV series ever. EVER.Brilliant. Twin Peaks was great, but ran out of juice mid-flow. This show exhibits some of the best writing for television I've ever seen. Buy all seven series and lock yourself away for a week. You'll emerge better for it. And quit your yapping about price. It retails at around £40 in the shops, making this one of the TV series on itunes that is actually priced reasonably. If only all television were this good. It raised the bar so high, it's gonna be a while before it's bettered..Score: 5/5
