We love Kai-Lan!Last month, we purchased the whole season after seeing my 21 months daughter's interest to Kai-Lan versus Dora. At first, she can watch half of the episode only but since last week i noticed she started to like it more and is happy watching the character do their roles. We like Kai-lan, she is fun, friendly and kind... and we esp. like that it teaches interpesonal skills- how to deal with emotions which is by no means deeper but they were able to show it in a simple, fun, easy and understandable way little ones can relate easily. With parents around, children can learn more from it. Thumbs up one of the best show we have watched so far!.Score: 5/5
A misspelled TitleI've been loving this show for a while now but on the last title of Season 1 is "Kai-Lan Trip to China" not "Kai-Lan Goes to China ".Score: 5/5
Great show!!I wish this show was on when I was a little girl. I'm Asian American and it would of been nice to see this kind of character growing up. It's a great show!! My 4 girls love her!! We are a mixed Chinese/Japanese American family, and they love watching a character who looks like them, follows the same traditions, and speaks both languages they do (Mandarin and English)..Score: 5/5

Love Ni Hao Kai LanMy pre-school age daughter loved Dora until one day we stumbled upon Ni Hao Kai Lan. Now she only has eyes for Kai Lan. She is also learning Chinese at school and at home so this show reinforces her learning. For a parent, Kai Lan is far less annoying than Dora. Ugh, I can't even listen to Dora's voice anymore. In defense of Dora though, my daughter knows all the color of the rainbow and how to count in Spanish!.Score: 5/5
Big fan of Kai-lan!I love Kai-lan especially for it's ability to teach my daughter a few Mandarin words!! It's pleasant to watch and fun to interact with. My 3 year old gets carte blanche, which she does not get with any other show. I can't wait for this show to gain popularity and add more episodes and products!!.Score: 5/5

We own the DVD...This show is good for several reasons: 1) It shows preschoolers that other people have feelings that they should be aware of. 2) Problem-solving 3) It teaches Mandarin (everyone in our house now knows how to say hello in Chinese, even the adults!) The creators of Dora the Explorer are also the creators of this show. Look at the credits and note how many of the same names are there. ;) My preschoolers love this show, however my husband's main concern is that they are trying to teach our kids their way of dealing with anger issues, which is not how we would teach our children. It's not viable for most 2-3 year olds to use in real situations. Hence why I gave this a 4 star rating. We are downloading some of these, as the DVD contains episodes 1-3 and #11. Very Cute for toddlersObviously reviews have to take into account the audience. In our case, toddlers, most likely girls. Kai-Lan is a very cute chinese girl, having adventures with her friends. Everything is presented in a very positive experience. The music is fun. There is a spin on the chinese culture, there is always a few words to learn in chinese in each episode (like colors, seasons etc...). My little daughter 3 years old love this show. If you liked also Wonder-Pets, this one is also very good..Score: 5/5

Ni Hao Kai LanVery similiar to Dora so if you think that is a good style show but want chinese (mandarin) instead then this is perfect. Not as annoying of a voice as Dora though so parents might not mind watching episode after episode....Score: 4/5
