It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz), but those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

Really enjoyed this.Was not sure I would like this but since there seems to be only a handful of movies I've wanted to see this year, I took a chance. The books are always better, but not having read them I really enjoyed the movie on it's own. I liked the charectors and the movie moved a good pace. I would definitely watch again, and have. Intelligent, well-paced, the definitive Tarzan filmForget the opinions of the millennial-aged critics. They don't have the life experience to judge such a film. It is intelligently written, with great characters, great action, great direction, great editing, great visuals, and perfectly paced. If you want some sort of Black Panther superhero movie, look elsewhere. But if you want a movie that does Tarzan right, this is thie movie. Long time Tarzan fanFirst let me say that I have watched Tarzan on tv and in the movies for 50 years. I even saw the broadway play! So I figured another ho-hum Tarzan movie. Like that disaster with Bo Derek.
