Five years, eight months, 12 days...and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life. She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweler Amita (Mindy Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Sarah Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Helena Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala. The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight.
Every con has its pros. Debbie Ocean, a criminal mastermind, gathers a crew of female thieves to pull off the heist of the century at New York's annual Met Gala.. Ocean's 8 Wiki
Watched twice - most of the negative reviews are overly sexist. It’s a remake - and SO well done
Such a good movie!
I loved this movie was super funny
I haven’t even seen this movie and I already know what the hell is going on. Feminist trash.
I feel like all the bad reviews are written by men. Go figure. I loved this movie. It’s an all star cast and it’s just good. I can’t think of anything bad to say about it.
I don’t know what those people are saying. Definitely one of my favorites!
I only had two disappointments. First, the formula is virtually identical to the first all-male Ocean’s 11. It was different enough and so well produced that it was not a big deal. Second,I’ve never liked the actress playing the fence / hoarder. Almost anyone would’ve been better, but McKinnon would’ve rocked that roll into orbit. Otherwise, it’s always fun to watch women being their bada$$ selves, and Sandra Bullock as Clooney’s sister was perfect. The whole “are they just friends or ...” subtleties between Bullock and Blanchett was incredibly well done. Hathaway very slightly overplayed Daphne at the end, making the movie a smidgen less satisfying for me. The movie got panned so bad there probably won’t be a followup, but if there is, getting a new fence, and somehow roping Julia Roberts into the action would be phenom.
Funny, interesting, great actors!
Short of a few gimmicks the reboot lacks luster. Dialogue is less than witty, seemingly more cropped and basic. What may have sounded like an interesting take resulted in just another disappointing sequel, more so with the subtle political push of an all female cast.
I won’t say much about this movie as I don’t want to waste too much time of mine or yours reading this review. This is a quick cash grab and nothing more, no real script with any interesting dialogue, poor plot with poor excuses for motivations of characters, poor directing or maybe lazy acting. I was barely able to finish this movie please do not waste your time or money on this piece of trash.
