David Arquette stars in the true crime thriller, inspired by the notorious mob summit of 1957, where over 50 mafia leaders across America converge on a small town in upstate New York to honor the new "capo dei capi" (Robert Davi). Stumbling upon their illegal operations, Sgt. Ed Croswell (Arquette) risks his life to stand up for justice, shedding light on the massive web of corruption to change the face of law enforcement forever. Directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, Mob Town also stars Jennifer Esposito (Crash), Jamie Lynn-Sigler (The Sopranos) and P.J. Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street).
Based on the true story of the notorious 1957 ‘mob summit’ in upstate New York. Spearheaded by Vito Genovese, more than 50 leaders of the organized crime syndicates from around the country converged on the sleepy town to discuss upcoming expansion plans. Their plans are foiled when local police trooper Ed Croswell discovers their activities and, consequently, exposes the mob to the American public. Croswell’s actions shed light on the massive web of corruption and changed the face of law enforcement forever.

A certified hidden gem!!Mafia films are one of my favorite genres- and I've seen a lot of them. The title of the film is as cheesy as it is generic, and I didn't have great expectations going in. Seeing David Arquette in the first ten minutes didn't help my preconceptions. I owe him an apology. I'm just not used to seeing him in anything with any degree of gravitas. If you can make it through the first ten minutes - you'll be glad you stuck around. This film has definetly earned itself a place in the pantheon..Score: 5/5
