Interesting yet brutalI just saw the uncut French version. There are two versions of this. R rated and the uncut one. Plus there is the American remake in 2015. That one is not as good as the French versions. It’s hard to watch at times but the ending is really good. Clever. Great twist. Many who have seen this have come up with their meanings about the ending. But to me it’s really one ending only. It’s actually obvious and the Director makes us realize that visually. The most DISTURBING movie I have ever seenI first saw this movie years ago and I have never have been so disturbed by a horror movie in my life! A girl who was brutally abused as a child kills members of a family who she believed was responsible for her torture and attempts to save a woman who was held captive in an underground bunker below the family’s house. The girl Anna is then taken hostage by members of a cult organization. 2 of them take over the home and physically beat, abuse, force feed and torture her all through the rest of the movie (I later found out that a supposed cousin of mine who I have never met played one of the cult members who torture Anna) until she is skinned alive.
