Amazing documentary!I was just a kid when this happened but I remember it in the news. The story is told mostly through actual footage and interviews. The camera work on the interviews is phenomenal. The emotion is captured perfectly. They have amazing footage from when it happened. So cool to see familiar newscasters. Emotionally raw - well done!Very emotional and gripping recounting of the avalanche disaster and miracle rescue from those that were present at the time. Forty years later and it's still raw. Current interviews laced with pictures and videos from the era are masterfully interplayed while visually feeling the storm on the mountain. Exceptionally well done!.Score: 5/5

Suspenseful and Sad DocumentaryIn spring of 1983 I got on a chairlift at Alpine Meadows. Another skier got on next to me. The first thing I remember noticing was that she was missing part of one of her legs. We began tio talk on the ride up and she to;ld me her story of surviving the avalanche that ocurred in winter of 1982. She descriubed the five days she was trapped in the rubble and how determined she was to survive and to ski again once she recovered. We spent the afternoon together and met the next day and rode some more. I am sure she would notm remember me but I never forgot her. And seeing her again in this gut wrenching documentary brought back the memories of her smile, of her courage and her love of skiing. I am glad to see she is still keeping on with her life and her will to recover and live a full life has been paramount. Way to go Ann!.Score: 5/5

Gripping from start to finish!I grew up skiing at Alpine and never realized it was a ticking time bomb. So much so, you learn in the film that avalanche science was birthed there. But most moving is the the impact of an unprecedented storm that threw all predictions out the window and the heartfelt story of the toll it took on the ski patrol responsible for everyone's safety. Even though you know the ending the film is gripping as those moments described by the survivors is like yesterday for them... you're left with the sense that thanks to the process of telling their stories for the film, a level of healing from the trauma is finally able to happen... I highly recommend it!.Score: 5/5
Gut wrenchingI did not know this story but was told about it and this documentary recently. Tragic but compelling. I think what struck me is the honesty of the people involved. Good people making soul crushing decisions. They went through this horrific event 30+ years ago and it still lives with them. Would I be able to handle this as well as they did? That was the thought I kept coming back to while watching. 5 stars. Worth your time and $..Score: 5/5
