A road trip comedy about six strangers from all walks of life who have one thing in common - a passion for karaoke. They are: a small-town singer with dreams of stardom, a down-on-his-luck young cab driver searching for the meaning of life, an ex-con with the past of a killer but the voice of an angel, a salesman burned out by his hamster-like existence on the treadmill of suburbia and an innocent Vegas showgirl who discovers a remarkable connection to a seasoned karaoke hustler. As they converge on the $5,000 grand prize karaoke contest in Omaha, Nebraska, they collide and combust and ultimately enrich each other, in the funny, raucous world of the karaoke bars and chain hotels that link the interstates of middle America.
Duets is a road-trip comedy which revolves around the little known world of karaoke and the whimsical characters who inhabit it. All roads lead to Omaha, site of a national karaoke competition where this motley group of singers and stars come together for a blow-out sing-off.

Duets!Duets! - It's worth it just to see Huey Lewis on the big screen, or in this case a little Ipod screen! I'm sick of Paltrow by now (and of coarse, she CAN sing too!) but she holds her own along with Paul D., Andre and the rest. The plot is a bit of a stretch, but funny. The guy in the cab is CUTE.... Huey Lewis fans, gotta get it!.Score: 4/5
Duets is a GREAT movie!This movie was done a huge disservice by the ad campaign managers ... who, decided to play up and distort the relationship between Huey and Gweneth's characters rather than give an accurate glimpse of the movie and the terrific cast. Ignore the critics. Surprisingly good!A near-perfect execution of a formula for a Friday night, watch at home movie. Entertaining, touching, heartfelt in equal measure. Fun movie!This movie gets a bad rap, but it's a fun film to watch, with comedy & drama, and the music is pretty decent too, especially the duet with Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow. It's a nice rendition of "Crusing". Also, if you look close, there are cameos of Jon Pinette, Michael Bouble before he was famous, (singing none the less!) and others. Fun flick!.Score: 4/5
