When Frank Beardsley (Dennis Quaid), a widower of 8 children runs into his high school sweetheart, Helen North (Rene Russo), it's as if thirty years never passed! Helen, also a widow with ten kids of her own that include the six she and her husband adopted, feels the attraction as well. It's no wonder they rush into marriage without telling their kids. True love can conquer all-right? Unfortunately for Frank and Helen, the families don't mesh quite as easily as the newlyweds had hoped. They probably should have seen the culture clash coming: the disciplined Beardsleys run things by the book; for the energetic and vivacious Norths, there is no book. Helen's kids aren't pleased about moving and sharing rooms with a bunch of uptight strangers. Frank's children have nothing in common with the Norths. Since both sets of kids aren't happy, they devise a plan to undermine the marriage and team up to plot the breakup. East meets west as the two families finds a way to work together-in order to separate. Just when it appears that the kids have succeeded, they realize they like each other despite their differences-they don't want their families to split up! Can they save Frank and Helen's marriage after they so brilliantly split them up? It's up to Frank and Helen!

Admiral Frank Beardsley returns to New London to run the Coast Guard Academy, his last stop before a probable promotion to head the Guard. A widower with eight children, he runs a loving but tight ship, with charts and salutes. The kids long for a permanent home. Helen North is a free spirit, a designer whose ten children live in loving chaos, with occasional group hugs. Helen and Frank, high school sweethearts, reconnect at a reunion, and it's love at first re-sighting. They marry on the spot. Then the problems start as two sets of kids, the free spirits and the disciplined preppies, must live together. The warring factions agree to work together to end the marriage.

Awesomest movie ever!Ok so i was babysitting and i turned on yours mine and ours and thats when i fell in love with drake bell. he is the best part of this movie. this movie was really good! so a about 2 months ago i rented this and me and my sister were watching this and my dad comes in and says what are you watching i say yours mine and ours and he said whats it about and i said well the mom has 10 kids, the dad has 8 kids, and then they get married.... no way, no way my dad says. and he watchd it, and he actually LIKED IT. i think its a great movie and as you can see, fun for the whole family! Italiano Frank è un ammiraglio della Guardia costiera, Helen, è una stilista. Entrambi sono vedovi. La loro amicizia si trasforma in un legame fortissimo che decidono di rinsaldare sposandosi. L'unico problema sono i loro 18 figli (10 di Helen, 8 di Frank) decisi a sabotare il matrimonio. Chi trionferà, i figli con i loro piani di sabotaggio o l'amore vero e sincero?
