10 years has passed since the confrontation between Kira and L. Again, Shinigami sends death notes to the ground and due to this, the world soon falls into chaos. Tsukuru is a member of the Death Note special task force team with 6 other investigators including Matsuda who experienced the Kira case of 10 years ago. Mass murders caused by the death note takes place on Wall Street in the U.S., Shibuya in Japan and other places. World famous private investigator Ryuzaki, who is the rightful successor of L, also investigates the mass murders. They discover that 6 death notes exists in the world. A computer virus called Kira spreads in the world. A message in the Kira virus says to turn in 6 death notes. A person who has 6 death notes overwhelm the world. The confrontation begins between the person who wants Kira’s revival and the people who want to stop it.

Beautiful MovieI am out of touch with many modern moviegoers (I am only 30), and this became especially apparent when I saw Avatar and completely hated it. I saw The New World soon after, and was pleasantly surprised. It was the story Avatar is based on, and it was everything Avatar was lacking in terms of character depth, story line and dialogue. Furthermore this movie was based on actual events. Although there were some historical inaccuracies, in all I think this was a wonderful depiction of how many events of that time transpired. The acting was excellent, the cinematography and score were beautiful. I am from Northern Virginia and attended William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA at the time the movie was being filmed in nearby Jamestown. It made me appreciate my native Virginia all the more, as well as appreciate the price paid for the New World. Additionally, it made me realize there was a real opportunity to adopt a new way of living, a more pure way of life, and it was rejected. It really will blow your mind to watch this movie..Score: 5/5

SlooooowCinematography is excellent, but this movie has such a slow pace and is so long I almost couldn't take it. The actors were good too. But the amount of good within the movie could not overcome the slow pace. Also, this is another delusional view of American Indians that makes them superhuman, in that they have no want, no jealousy, no faults. Whites came here and screwed everything up. I agree with some of the ideas behind some of these stories, but to put out there that the Indians were Godlike in their union with nature and without any human faults is very unrealistic..Score: 2/5
A review from the seventh meme, second tier (spiral dynamics)...Terrence Malick is a true artist in a very muddy hollywood, mixed with big egos, corporate agendas and big money which makes the rules. This movie is the antithesis of your summer blockbusters like Transformers (which is a ton of fun but lacking any of the depth portrayed by Malick). This movie captures the spirit of the time, it is for someone who has no problem residing in their artistic right brain for a few hours. It is a movie that goes so far as to suggest that the mind and spirit of the observer is not totally swiss cheese from watching brain dead TV for hours a day and has the ability to soak in not only his interpretation of a culture who survived by being one with their land, but also the patience to FEEL the the richness of a tumultuous and breathtaking time in American and human history. He portrays the white man not as demons but as very mixed, a culture of hugely ambitious, compassionate and even totally sick individuals at times. Much love to Terrence for another fine piece of work!.Score: 5/5
