A Summer PlaceNearly 50 years I thought this movie was the best ever. It's still a good movie for the era, but in retrospect only Arthur Kennedy displayed any acting ability (he was the most believeable of the cast). I probably goofed having read the book first, and remembering it very well (everyone acted superbly in my mind)..Score: 2/5

A Great Reality MovieI remember seeing this movie as a young teen in the 60's. The theme song was great. The storyline dealt with young love lost and young love found as well the issues of sex, adultery, alcoholism, classism and scandal. This movie had a major impact on my views about real life. I loved Sandra Dee in this film as much as I did in her performance in "An Imitation of Life" with Lana Turner. Both roles allowed her to portray a confused teen having to deal with the realities of life at home and in society in general. I remember Richard Egan from Elvis Pressley's first move "Love Me Tender" where he portrayed Elvis' older brother during the Civil War. A great character actor. If you want to see a movie that went against the practice of not talking about anything controversial in society, this is it..Score: 5/5
My Favorite Film of All TimeIf you want to see a true love story watch this film (you may even like the book, if you can find it). Great music by the same composer for Gone with The Wind. And watch for the reference to a young architect at the time - Frank Lloyd Wright. Very well done..Score: 5/5
