“From The Vault” is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. “L. A. Forum – Live In 1975” is the second title in this series. The Rolling Stones’ “Tour Of The Americas ‘75” was the band’s first tour with new guitarist Ronnie Wood. Even before the dates started there were dramatic scenes in New York City at the official tour announcement when the band unexpectedly turned up on a flatbed truck to play “Brown Sugar”. After a couple of low key warm-up shows in Louisiana the tour took in 44 dates between the 3rd June and the 8th August 1975. They settled into the L. A. Forum for a five night stint from July 9th to 13th and this concert film features the show from July 12th. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

Wow! The Love You Live tour!I got Love You Live Album when I was ten years old! I loved it! Would play it over and over! This concert captures that tour! Yes they might be a tad sloppy but it is an awesome concert! The thing that is amazing is Mick ! He doesn’t stop! He gives it his all ! For over two hours and around 30 songs! It is so different from other Stones tours is the reason I like it so much! They have Ollie Brown playing percussion behind Charlie Watts! They let Billy Preston sing two songs and he is amazing! They look like they are having a great time! I have never seen Charlie Watts so active and smiling and having a great time! He even lets Ollie play his drums and he plays the percussion’s on a couple of songs! This also captured the 70’s in all its glory! I know they have sounded better on other tours but it could be there best one The Tour Of America’s ! Watch it and you will see what I mean! They play a lot of those middle 70’s albums songs as well!! Which I love ! I’m talking Goatsheads and Black and Blue and Its Only Rock n Roll Albums! Awesome! Great in its on way! Keep on Rolling Boys!.Score: 5/5

Five Nights of Rock 'n Roll — And I love it!I was at three of the five shows at the Forum that June. Started with $10 and no tickets and by the end of the first day working the Forum parking lot I had 3 — Wednesday, Friday and Saturday! All the shows were sold out and the Stones were in top form for a major stand in one of their fav cities. With Billy Preston on stage to assist on keyboards and who led the Stones through his "Will it Go Round in Circles" and "Space Race", the inflatable Honky Tonk Women and the Gigantic Phalus erupting during "StarF*cker" it turned heads and got our feet moving! Next weekend three of us piled into my friends MGB and headed up to the Cow Palace in San Francisco to see them again! No tickets when we left but we were all in to see the show with only two hours to work the crowd!.Score: 5/5

My First Tour…This one of the indoor Arena stops during the stadium tour that this was. Got a few nights for a few reasons. One it was LA and two it’s only way to get 100,000 tickets sold. My first Stones show was at the end of “TOTA” tour of the Americas as it was aptly named. Anyhow saw them at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville Florida August 2nd 1975 along with 75,000 other fans. Having already been a huge fan at 20 years old they were already playing the soundtrack to my life at that point and this show in LA proves why. Many call this period sloppy but it is far from it with the introduction of Ronnie Wood to weave with Keef as opposed to lead/rhythm guitars. Their shows have always been quite different then we hat you hear on vinyl. No one commands a stage like the best front man to ever grace one… Mick Jagger. The band at the end of a golden era of album runs with Jimmy Miller getting the best out of them on vinyl were ripe for a new run albeit different. It was like their 3rd incarnation and the one that would last for decades. This film is really well done compared to most of the era with constant zooming, panning etc. This LA show while heavily edited had great sound and one of the few stops the famous Lotus Stage and inflatable phallic symbol actually raised. We are at the 60 year Anniversary of this great Rock and Blues band and I was lucky enough to see 70 plus shows along the way. I cherish this era now, this show/tour and the Love You Life album showcase it well. All one has to do is listen to SFTD, YCAGWYW, Heartbreaker or Star Star ;) to hear and see how good they can be on any night. You won’t regret this purchase. Well worth it and great restoration job Bob Clearmountain has done..Score: 5/5

The sloppy 70'sA wonderful document of the lascivious and languid 70's. The Stones are drunk, sloppy, coked and wonderfully debauched in this LA concert from 1975. Great tunes, intoxicated performance-but solid…a tad self-indulgent, but hey man, that was the 70's. For Stones diehards only, I would say. But this was back when the Stones were second only to Zeppelin in popularity. The "from the vault" series is a great way to "see what all the fuss" was about. Three and a half stars..Score: 3/5
