From acclaimed Italian director Saverio Costanzo comes this drama series adaptation of "My Brilliant Friend," the first book in the "Neapolitan Novels" quadrilogy by pseudonymous Italian author Elena Ferrante. The story follows Elena Greco, a now-elderly woman who discovers that the most important friend in her life, Raffaella "Lila" Cerullo, seems to have disappeared without a trace. An author, immersed in a house full of books, Elena starts writing the story of their tempestuous friendship, starting from the point when they met during their first year of primary school in 1950.
