Season two finds Sam wrestling with the recent discovery that he may be the son of the Devil. But Sam quickly learns that getting groomed to take over the “family business” comes with a whole new litany of headaches. The demon rebellion he once collaborated with is now out to kill him – a conflict further complicated when Ben starts dating the demon assassin (Jenny Wade, “Feast,” “No Reservations”) tasked with the job Sam also finds he’s not the Devil’s only son and that one in particular (Armie Hammer, “Billy,” “Veronica Mars”) is Hell-bent on taking Sam’s place at the Devil’s side. Plus, Sam must decide whether to reveal any of this news to his girlfriend Andi (Missy Perergrym, “Heroes”) who’s already wary of his extracurricular activities for Hell. But a chance encounter with an elusive soul (Sean Patrick Thomas, “Save the Last Dance,” “A Raisin in the Sun”) who claims to have gotten out of his own deal with the Devil, offers Sam a glimmer of hope that he may not be stuck working for the Devil forever. Getting him to reveal exactly how he did it, however, will be easier said than done.

Shame it's been cancelledThis show is one of the funniest TV series available. The writing is very witty and the actors portray the lines well. Sam is the son of the devil and catches souls that escape hell. It sounds stupid, but there are many other side plots. Sam has an on and off relationship with the attractive Andi. Sock has relations with his step sister. Ben dates a demon, Nina, who tries to become good. Ted gets fired from being the manager and then seeks his job back. All in all, Reaper is an entertaining show. After only two seasons, it will be cancelled. If you like Dead Like Me, this would be a good show for you. For the first 20 years of his life, Sam (Bret Harrison) wondered why his parents went so easy on him. Whether it was school, sports or career choices, Sam's folks always let him get by with the least possible effort. As a result, Sam skipped college, and took a dead-end job at the local Work Bench home improvement store. Everything in his slacker world changed the day Sam turned 21 and discovered the truth: his parents sold his soul to the devil before he was even born. When Satan himself (Ray Wise) drops by to personally explain that Sam must now serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down evil souls that have escaped and returning them to Hell, Sam refuses to accept his bizarre fate. After getting a glimpse of Satan's temper, however, Sam realizes that breaking a deal with the devil has consequences that are very, very bad. Still, even while Sam is forced to do the Devil's bidding, he's determined to find a loophole in his contract, and to discover the real reason his parents were forced to make the evil deal in the first place.
