Dark Magic!Don’t listen to the haters out there. Give this show a chance and it will draw you in. It starts with a mysterious set-up and intriguing characters, then proceeds to add action, depth and even more interesting mysteries. Only watched the first episode so far but I'm hooked already.I can honestly say that I had my doubts as to weather or not I would like this show. I wasn't a huge fan of the show "Firefly" and the trailer made it seem like it was just another version of it. However after watching the first episode, I seen that was not the case at all and can't wait to watch more episodes of the show when I have the chance. I love the concept of a ship full of wanted criminals who can't remember who they are or anything about themselves. This one is worth your time...It's not your stereotypical SciFI show - this is more of a mind screw that happens to take place on a ship in space. Super interesting concept (I own the very short lived comic and it was good too if slightly different) that was well adapted to television by its own creators, Joseph Mallozzi & Paul Mullie. If you don't know these names you have lived under a SciFi television ROCK for at least the last decade!(thank you gentlemen for Stargate, thank you very very much!) I think the biggest issue with people walking into this show was their expectations - they expected something like Stargate. In a way it is - the vibe is familiar and warm (and some of the guest stars - David Hewlett) but Dark Matter is NOT Stargate. If you can put that out of your mind, then you've got it. It's similar to Killjoys, but not at the same time. If you like Killjoys you will probably like this too. If you like ensemble cast shows (Universe or Atlantis like shows) this one is for you too because the emphasis is on the characters. It's character driven plot and it's something Mallozzi does really well. I'm anxiously awaiting season 2!.Ilerya82Score: 5/5
