And trek and trek and trek...Unfairly maligned by some Trekkies, Voyager is my third favorite of the ST franchise, after the original series and TNG. It's a distant third, but it beats Deep Space 9, my least fave, and the also unfairly maligned but still problematic Enterprise. Yes, it took most of the first two seasons to settle down and hit its groove, but all the spinoffs had achingly slow starts, and once it got up and running I'd say it was a pretty even mix of tolerable-to-good epsiodes and useless filler ones. On the good episodes the writing is solid, and the stories an interesting variety (as opposed to the more plodding and monotone DS9 and Enterprise). It's true the crew doesn't hold a candle to those in the original series or TNG, but there are high points: Captain Janeway, the doctor and, holy cow, Seven of Nine. I don't get Trekkie cultists who complain that Seven hijacked the show by the fourth season. Yes, and? That's a problem how? What percentage of the show's ratings do you think were directly attributable to her costume and the way she filled it? The deadpan sexpots -- Spock, Seven, Data and T'Pol -- are the most interesting characters in the whole franchise. Also, the production values, effects and sets on Voyager are topnotch for tv sci-fi. Still, I do advise skipping the first two seasons and going straight to season three..Score: 3/5

Where are the rest ....?I will never understand the motivation to put a new series onto I-tunes when all of the seasons are not available. I am thankful that this time they offered the first season (unlike with NCIS etc.), but where are the other seasons? Get with it!!.Score: 4/5

A pleasant surprise in the TV section! My boyfriend, as a way to celebrate the 2009 Star Trek movie premiere, asked me if I wanted to watch an entire Star Trek series with him. I had seen every The Next Generation episode and wasn't a fan of Deep Space 9 (watched Enterprise just because I'm OBSESSED with Scott Bakula), and knowing this information he picked Voyager. From the first episode to the one we just finished (Season 5, Episode 24 - "Relativity") I have been spellbound by Captain Katherine Janeway, her diverse Federation/Maquis mixed crew, and their relentless efforts to make it back to the Alpha Quadrant as quickly as possible. True underdogs in a quadrant the Federation knew next to nothing about, Voyager definitely does not lack in entertainment..Score: 5/5

Great seriesNew aliens, ships and worlds. The holo doc is great and his charactor builds each show. Russ plays a great vulcan as well. Great show. Please add more seasons!.Score: 5/5

The Journey BeginsFrom "Star Trek TOS and TNG" to "Friends" to "Boston Public" and "iCarly," Star Trek Voyager (all 7 Seasons) and its actors and their character portrayals continues the remarkable foresight into the human condition and the journey Gene Roddenberry started over 40 years ago. These shows are mentioned because Voyager features actors from each of the above mentioned shows and many, many others. Did you know that the Star Trek Voyager "Extra Features" allows you to meet some of the scientists who were responsible for the "re-cataloging" of Pluto, some "Real Science" behind Star Trek, and also interviews with the series creators, directors, actors, art directors, and others help to understand the bond formed when a new series is expected to live up to the ideals and hopes of the previous series? Within the stories from "Caretaker" to "Learning Curve" begins the journey of the Starship Voyager and its crew on a journey they never planned on. They very "simply" want to get home, but due to an encounter with the Caretaker and his involvement with a people known as the "Ocampa," getting home is anything but simple. CARETAKER: Searching for the Maquis, that includes former members of Star Fleet that have torn away from the Federation, the crew of Voyager and the crew of the renegade Maquis are unexpectedly thrown 70,000 light years away from the Alpha Quadrant into an uncharted area of space. The crews have to learn (not like) to work and live together and this is also where you are introduced to the Ocampans and to the Kazon. Note: If you have seen Lone Wolf McQuade, look for one of the future Voyager crew in that Chuck Norris-themed movie.) FAVORITE EPISODES FROM S1: I'm one of those people who enjoy the premise of just about all things Star Trek but Caretaker, Phage, The Cloud (visuals), Emanations, Heroes and Demons (great episode for the "feelings" of the EMH), Faces (Identity theft taken to an extreme level), and Learning Curve (which shows that there can be common ground even under the most austere conditions) are my top choices. FAVORITE S1 CHARACTERS: Kes, Tom Paris, Neelix, Tuvok FAVORITE S1 PERFORMANCE: This is a very difficult decision, but the episode, FACES, and Roxann Dawson would have to take the top spot. VILLAINS IN THE MIX: The Kazon and the Vidians and others MUSIC AND VISUALS: I never thought I would enjoy this kind of music on a constant basis, but the sounds from Jerry Goldsmith, Dennis McCarthy and others (Heroes and Demons, and the title tracks, for sure) are worth putting in your ear. Dan Curry and his team and other artists provide some of the most breath-taking music I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Bottom Line. The iTunes price is right, the plot is there and will build over the next several seasons, and I believe you will enjoy taking this journey. "Live long and prosper!".Score: 5/5
