Beyond amazingI love the series so much, I loved ATLA too. My favorite show of all time. I just hope the producers will have two more sequels with an earthbender avatar, and a firebender avatar, seems like justice..Score: 5/5
In all honesty - Good but not greatLegend of Korra is a plot driven show, I still don't feel like it's driven by it's characters the way ATLA was. But I still support the franchise I mean I have to-- I first started watching ATLA when I was 11. Now I'm 20... sad life I know. But it's just one of those shows I'll never give up. In fact I'll probably have my kids watching this stuff because the concept is just AMAZING. I'll now go through the seasonās positives and negatives... The positives: + Great plot twists, stunning visuals, and gripping story + The funnies were very very funny, and the characters have come a long way since Book 1 + It's creative, original, and never stops changing at a very fast pace - this is LOK greatest strength and weakness for me. Yes I love how much my tummy flips as I watch lots of ground breaking actions happen in one episode but sometimes I just long for how my heart used to swell in the good ol days when ATLA would spend a whole episode on Aang teaching a bunch of fire nation kids to dance, why? Because they were helping us further fall in love with the beautiful characters and relationships that made ATLA the fun filled unforgettable legend that is was. This leads us into the negatives: - Too fast! Like I said sometimes I just want it to slowwww downnnn, and let us have some time to get to know the characters and have their relationships between each other grow a little bit more. I'm not too worried about the Mako and Korra thing because the relationship never really had time to grow on me. Yeah they kiss at the end of Season 1 and already at the start of Season 2 they're fighting. Really? A little bit more connection would have been nice to connect to. - It needs more connection to ATLA (its roots and humble beginnings! The show that started it all!), as they say a tree that's forgotten its roots is soon to fall (okay I just made that up but I feel like it could be an applicable saying). It's good that it's doing its own thing but it would be nice to see just a little bit more of old Aang guiding Korra through her quest like Roko did for Aang. But of course Korra doesnāt need a spiritual guide becauseā¦. - Korra's a fast learner-- it took Aang hours to learn anything but Korra seems to pick all things impossible up in ten minutes, or even behind the scenes! We don't even see her learning how to de-evilies spirits. Who needs a spiritual guide when you learn things when your viewers arenāt even watching! I loved watching Aang learn things, because it made Aang feel human and relatable to me. Korra just seems to get everything in one go and thus the relatablitity for me is way off. - Not having a main villain. Itās great that Korra is able to whoop everyoneās butt buttttttt it was kind of fun connecting with the evil characters as well. The bad guys come and go and it kind of takes away from there seeming unstopableness and the buildup. So maybe Iām just stuck in ATLA mode because it meant so much to me, or maybe LOK really does need to step it up? Who knows maybe the third book will really make it come alive for me. Iāll stay tune because of ATLA in hopes that Book 3 will be a great and not just a good..Score: 4/5
Amazing! To those uncertain about The Legend of Korra: watch it. It is every bit as good as the original Avatar series was. Set in a more modern world, the new avatar is faced with struggles of a different kind, struggles that relate more to our modern world. Technology is booming, crime is rising, and a revolution is awakening. This is much more real than the last series was. The characters are built incredibly realistic, too. Korra is a revolutionary heroine: she is realistic, imperfect, hasty, rebellious... all the things that a teenager girl really would be. Faced with difficult decisions, she doesn't always choose the right ones, yet she always learns from them. The other characters also show these strenghts and weaknesses along with equal depth to the characters of The Last Airbender. While different, troubled, and darker than the original, everyone should give The Legend of Korra a chance. It has many wonders to be seen as of yet and her story is only just beginning..Score: 5/5
