For nine years, Patrick (Matthew Fox), Jack (Jeffrey Donovan) and his daughter Lu (Quinn McColgan) have outlasted the zombie apocalypse by shutting themselves off in the snowbound town of Harmony. The monsters have seemingly disappeared, with no sign of other survivors, but the constant fear of the unknown is starting to take a toll on this makeshift family. When Patrick goes scavenging for food, he discovers the undead have returned and evolved into something terrifying, beyond imagination. Will the last breath of the human race survive a second zombie apocalypse?

A decent post-apocalyptic dramaWell finally Matthew Fox got a decent role in a zombie movie! Ok, evil jokes aside this movie is actually pretty good. If you are prepared to look over some silliness and occasional over the top melodrama and acting you may find this enjoyable. It's not entirely a zombie movie because there aren't that many zombies in it, but as the end of days drama it works well..Score: 4/5
DepthThis show has plenty of aggressive mutant type critters (won't call them zombies, because they're too smart for that). Their not overused, though. The focus in on a very small group of people and their efforts to get by. It is a good movie..Score: 5/5

I Liked It!I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. There were a few digital effects things that bothered but the story was great. I rented it but would have paid the price to own it. Some good scares watching it on my iPad with headphones. The worst part is the title ... "EXTINCTION"!!! So generic it's easy to pass over. It's like they put no time or effort into a decent name for pretty good movie..Score: 4/5

Phenomenal Film with Heart and SoulThis beautiful film is worth every penny. Emotional and heartfelt with amazing performances, particularly from the always excellent Matthew Fox. He's the true standout in this movie. There are many Lost-like moments that make it even more special. It isn't just your average "zombie" flick, it's so much more. Don't listen to some of the "professional" critics who seem to have a Walking Dead obsession and don't even want to give any other "zombie" type films/TV shows a chance. The acting in this blows away everyone on that show. Nobody handles emotion like Fox. One of my favorite movies now. Can't recommended it highly enough. Buy or rent it now!.Score: 5/5

My ReviewThe beginning has a great hook --- dread, fear, panic, cowardice vs bravery but then we are less into an already unbelievable world made even more absurd. The living arrangements and the bizarre choices ( even for a horror movie) are hard to swallow. In the end as expected it's a redemption film. The one dude is a bit Mumsy but Matthew Fox does the best he can with his character and even in the first scene with minimal dialogue we get a good idea who this man is. For hardcore fans..Score: 3/5
