In this follow-up to his film BIGGER FASTER STRONGER, director Chris Bell turns his camera on the abuse of prescription drugs and, ultimately, himself. After witnessing friends and relatives face tragedy as they become addicted to prescription drugs, Bell sets out to explore the goals of pharmaceutical companies and doctors in this ever-growing market and asks how are they any different to back-alley drug-pushers? His journey leads to experts on the nature of addiction in our culture as well as to pharmaceutical whistleblowers that testify to the solely dollar-driven aims of pharmaceutical companies. As Bell learns more about the nefarious side of an industry he had been brought up to trust, he falls down his own hole of addiction, bringing a very intimate style and conclusion to this investigation.
Americans consume 75% of the world’s prescription drugs. After losing his own brother to the growing epidemic of prescription drug abuse, documentarian Chris Bell sets out to demystify this insidious addiction. Bell’s examination into the motives of big pharma and doctors in this ever-growing market leads him to meet with experts on the nature of addiction, survivors with first-hand accounts of their struggle, and whistleblowers who testify to the dollar-driven aims of pharmaceutical corporations. Ultimately his investigation will point back to where it all began: his own front door.

So close to the truth it hurts.Chris struggles with the idea that humans are addictive creatures and that we tend to replace one addiction with another yet he can not figure out why we are like this. He is on the cusp of understanding that humans are creatures made to worship the God of the Bible and when we are divorced from that we are made to worship we replace it with something else - be it success, drugs, sex - whatever. Not as good as stronger, faster but still a worthwhile watch as demonstration of how lost people are in the USA, a supposedly Christian nation..Score: 3/5
Prescription hugsA must see movie for 2016 I wanted to hug the hell out of Chris ,Mark and their family for giving an amazing look at how not only it effects a family dichotomy, but the way big business chews us up and spits us out.
