Amazing documentary on the gun violence epidemic in the USThe documentary shows the huge problem with gun violence that many people in the US are affected by each year. More than 30.000 americans die each year due to gun violence. Many of these deaths are suicides, and the majority of these could be prevented by having longer waiting periods on buying a gun. Sucide is an impulsive action, and if the person has to wait longer to buy a gun, they might reconsider their action. The documentary shows how much money the NRA gives to politicians to make sure that they do not implement stricter gun control laws. The NRA is making a killing, while people are dying all over the US. The documentary has very intriguing stories about families, where gun violence have taken away their sons, daughters and husbands. Gun violence in America is a tragic problem, that can be brought down if politicians are brave enough to do something about it..Score: 5/5

Great Overview of Gun Violence in AmericaThis movie follows 5 different stories about how gun violence has affected an individual, families, and even whole communities. Each story is unique and heart wrenching, but I think what makes this movie stand out the most is that it offers real solutions and any reasonable American can get behind, like background checks, waiting periods, even legislation that is less obvious like, restricting gun access to known domestic abusers. I was disgusted to learn that common sense laws like these are blocked by the NRA and gun lobbyists simply to make a buck! Unbelievable! We need to take a good hard look at ourselves as a country and start making some real changes..Score: 4/5

Wow.I cancelled my NRA membership years ago when Pres. Bush did, but have not follwed them that closely since. I had no idea what monsters that once-great organization had become. They really exist solely to benefit gun manufacturers and their own board of directors now..Score: 5/5

Powerful and moving and there is hopeMaking A Killing highlights 5 different kinds of gun violence: domestic violence, children who are unintentionally shot because of lack of safe storage, Chicago and gun trafficking laws, suicide which surprisingly makes up 2/3rds of gun related deaths, and lastly mass shootings highlighting Aurora. Each of these sections is told through intense and personal stories, so we see and feel the effect this kind of violence has had on a wide spectrum of people, and illustrating the real fear we all hold now that potential gun violence is all around us, every day. And around every corner, the NRA is there spending money to block common sense gun laws to secure the profits for the gun manufacturers and themselves. We see how politicians are in the pocket of the NRA and how the NRA is against things the majority of their members are for, so who are they really representing? There are tons of stats in this film to stock your own arsenal against anyone who may want to argue about common sense gun laws. It is intense but important, and perhaps even more importantly there are all kinds of things you can actually do to get involved and make a difference instead of just get mad and sit on the couch. Powerful stories and important infoSaw this film in the theatre and was blown away by the powerful stories and all of the information about gun companies and the NRA making billions while innocent people die. There is so much great info on this film . It was a wake-up call for me to see how many people are dying each year. Many of those deaths can be avoided, but greed of gun companies prevents changes in laws. simple things like background checks and waiting periods would go a long way. I felt duped by the NRA and all of their lies. Very important film to watch..Score: 5/5

Polemic NonsenseBefore this "documentary" was made, the director/producer promised a polemic screed attacking the NRA. He succeeded. Any semblance of a balanced investigation into problems and solutions is notably absent. Instead, the focus is on blind emotion and twisted logic culminating in a demand that the US Government "do something" to infringe upon the rights of the American people. Never mentioned is the fact that our rights are natural and unalienable; the government has no legal power to infringe upon those rights. The NRA is no impediment whatsoever in the screed's demanded action. The real obstacle is the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. The NRA merely defends those revered documents..Score: 1/5

The Truth about this ignorant movieThis movie does not mean anything. The people who made this movie are total ignorants. People need guns for self-protection. People always take it out on the gun, the real important thing to blame it on is the killer. NRA is just a normal organization that defends the 2nd Amendment and that wants the people to be free and safe by having their own concealed fire arms..Score: 1/5

Insightful, thoughtful docIf you are worried about gun violence in America, this is the film to see to learn WHY so much of it is happening. Spoiler - the main reason is that a small 1% of the NRA and gun companies are making billions off of gun sales. This film shows both the impact of that on all types of American families - and exposes the politics and profit motives behind our national epidemic.
