The Return of the Living Dead Film Synopsis
When foreman Frank shows new employee Freddy a secret military experiment in a supply warehouse in Louisville, Kentucky, the two klutzes accidentally release a gas that reanimates corpses into flesh-eating zombies. As the epidemic spreads throughout the town, and the creatures satisfy their hunger in gory and outlandish ways, Frank and Freddy fight to survive with the help of their boss and a mysterious mortician.

You mean the movie lied?This is the ultimate unholy marriage of absurdist humour and gross-out horror! Meant by the studio execs to be a sequel to George Romero's pseudo scientific and socially aware Dawn of the Dead, Return was instead taken by its director, the late great Dan O'Bannon, into a dizzying Punk Rock zombie infused land of pure cray-cray, ultra violent comedy. It, along with Stuart Gordon's masterful Re-Animator, taps into the terrifying horror conceit of death not being a release from pain. Shiver! Ein unachtsamer Stoß gegen einen der Behälter lässt Gas ausströmen, wovon die beiden bewusstlos werden. Als sie wieder erwachen, ist der Teufel los. Die aufgespießten Schmetterlinge schlagen mit den Flügeln, die „halben“ Hunde hecheln und die Leichen in der Kühlkammer beginnen zu randalieren. Verzweifelt rufen sie ihren Chef zu HiIfe. The film originally began as a 45-minute U.S.C. student film project by Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon that was eventually expanded into a feature length production. The story takes place on the deep-space cruiser Dark Star, where a crew of laid-back astronauts are assigned the task of blowing up planets with unsuitable life forms in order to make the universe safe for the human race. The leader is Commander Powell (Joe Sanders), who is cryogenically frozen after being killed in a freak accident. Next in line is Doolittle (Brian Narelle) who tries to keep the rest of the crew in check. However, there is a lot of down time between planetary explosions and the tediousness is starting to get to everyone. However, after a series of accidents, a smart bomb --i.e. a bomb that can talk and think on its own-- does not detach itself from the ship as planned and will explode within 24 minutes unless it can be cajoled into disarming itself.
