The Musical Box Film Synopsis

When six-year-old Sophie is tragically orphaned guardianship is assigned to her estranged aunt Annabelle. The two move into a large, eerie, Victorian house where Sophie unearths a locked wooden box with a strange symbol drawn on it. Desperate to connect with her niece Annabelle pries the lock open revealing a beautiful music box. Each time the music box is wound and replayed it's surprisingly chilling melody plays slightly longer, captivating Sophie even more. When the music box begins affecting Sophie's behavior and health Annabelle seeks the aid of a child psychologist and clairvoyant who soon discover the music box is possessed by an evil spirit who seeks to haunt Sophie and destroy Annabelle. As the haunting intensifies time begins to run out and Annabelle finds herself racing against the music box's melody to defeat the spirit before the last note plays.

A Day at the Pool puts forth an almost equally far fetched hypothesis as it examines the origins of skateboarding. Directors Eric Fulford and Ian Douglass film, Day at the Pool, challenges the validity the 2001 documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys and it's mainstream account of skateboarding history. A series of interviews with many of the original Z-Boys, including Jay Adams, Tony Alva, Skip Engblom and Stacy Peralta, reveal the existence of a local talent who was skating inside swimming pools before any of the ‘original' pioneers, credited as the sport's founders. Several Z-Boys testify to witnessing a young skateboarder perform maneuvers so profoundly amazing, not even the modern day skate masters could possibly attempt them. The film goes on to present a surprising account of history that first reveals the skateboarder's identity, and then exposes the Z-Boys selfish motivation for keeping his story secret.

“Sum Of The Parts” is the official authorised story of Genesis made with the full co-operation of the band members. It tells of the band’s formation at Charterhouse (where Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel and Mike Rutherford were all pupils) in the late sixties and the release of their debut album “From Genesis To Revelation”. At the same time as they were recording and performing with Genesis, Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford (as Mike & The Mechanics) were all enjoying successful solo careers, as were departed members Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett. “Sum Of The Parts” explores the dynamics of the group that has enabled them to survive changes of line-up, see their musical direction steadily evolve and maintain both group and solo careers along with their enduring popularity as evidenced by their hugely successful 2007 reunion tour.
