A taut, original, exciting new voice in horror…A very unique horror movie, with an eccentric Aussie flair and a GREAT central premise and hook, with excellent performances and some really creative uses of subtext, which to me is always a hallmark of the best horror films. Make no mistake, this is maybe the most striking film of recent years about the theme of attachment and if you are looking for a fun, scary and surprisingly emotional horror movie that will entertain and make you think and feel, this is it.
My choice, so far, for my favorite film of 2023…

CrapDumb plot. Brainless counterintuitive characters. Slow. The main dullard discovers demonstrable proof of life after death and just mopes around in a funk because her mother died. The other “teens” film said proof of an afterlife on multiple phones and yet share it nowhere. The fact that they possess this stupid hand, the existence of which would tear down everything we thought we understood about science and life and the world around us, and just meander about being irritating and self absorbed is so aggravating and stupid. That being said I firmly believe that at the time of writing this the average person is actually that stupid and narcissistic. So maybe this is just too real for me..Pete dunzoScore: 1/5
Creepy take on familiar storyThis story has been done plenty of times, but it’s fresh in execution in this movie. The visuals are dark and brooding and the acting is very good.
