Fantastic Movie!This movie is a personal favorite of mine and is one of the few remakes I feel is better than the original. The acting is fantastic, save for the somewhat annoying parts with Faye Dunaway (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), the plot captures you from start to finish, and the soundtrack is amazing (Sinnerman is fantastic at the end and Caban la Ka Kratchie is perfect for the Martinique scenes). Simply StunningThe Thomas Crown Affair is easily one of my all time favourite movies. The story is immensely satisfying without feeling at all predictable. It flirts with cliches then skewers them. Rene Russo isn't just hot, she is incendiary.
And it features a sequence that is the perfect synthesis of Magritte, Nina Simone and every caper movie you've ever seen. It sounds too pompous for words when you put it that way, but in this movie it is the maraschino on top of the sundae..Stevey MacScore: 5/5

Nothing Stunning about this film - Ho HumAs with (almost) all of these remakes the writers and directors put it over-the-top for cheap thrills. I MUCH preferred the older Mr. McQueen version which had a darker seriousness to it than this one. More real. More dangerous. And the sentimental romance ending here (as opposed to the harder non-romantic ending of the first version), for me, defeated the integrity of the two main characters.
