A work if artThis film just just a classic. It's music is so compelling and well written dialogue blends together with the plot. The atmosphere really sets the tone for the suspenseful feeling you have when watching it. The special effects are pretty cool to. 5/5.Score: 5/5
Santa Claus conquers the Giant AntsDumb concept huh? Well, watch the movie - really fine cast playing it straight. Tell me if you aren't just a little relieived at the end when the good guys get to the last nest before the young queens have flown the coop. Of course, what chance do the ants have against Santa Claus, huh? And when the Ants dumps Officer Friendly's rib cage on the bone pile I dare you not to get creeped-out. Superior Monster MovieA true classic and clearly an inspiration for other great monster movies to follow. Aliens in particular owes a debt to this flick about giant mutant ants (the films both find a lone child survivor in the aftermath of a major attack we don't see but are shown the effects of and the military versus giant bugs or in ALIENS' case giant bug like creatures in catacombs and sewers to name a couple similarities). Obviously no special effect from the 1950's will stand up to the scrutiny of today's special effects bombarded audiences, but they are still effective, the acting is solid and the suspense is real. As a bonus note to all you movie buffs, keep your eyes out for a cameo by DISNEY FAVORITE FESS PARKER (yep, Davy Crockett) as a freaked out pilot..Score: 5/5

THEM! is a classic Grade-B Horror film with a great cast and very atmospheric setting and story. The Golden Age of HorrorThis movie was made back in the days before Hollywood was corrupted by Political Correctness and Ideology, as such it's a great example that movies don't need copious amounts of pointless sex, F-bombs and gross out gore to be a great movie. True the acting does feel stale at the best of times and the whole "women are helpless" theme does make an appearence but hey, it was the 50's after all. Bearing in mind that this movie was made during the begining of the Cold War and fears of Radiation and it's effects were very real, and always preasent it should not be a surprise such fears help shape the overall tone of this movie..Score: 4/5
