One of Geronimo's subchiefs, Massai, is the only Apache who refuses to surrender after Geronimo's death, and conducts a one-man war against the white man for his tribe's rights…battling for the West with knife, arrow and gun. Based on the novel "Bronco Apache" by Paul I. Wellman.
Apache Film Synopsis
Following the surrender of Geronimo, Massai, the last Apache warrior is captured and scheduled for transportation to a Florida reservation. On the way he manages to escape and heads for his homeland to win back his girl and settle down to grow crops. His pursuers have other ideas though.

Jednou z posledních skupin, která ještě bojovala za svou svobodu a svá práva, byli Apači pod vedením náčelníka Geronima. Roku 1886 však i Geronimovi věrní složili zbraně a byli odesláni na Floridu, aby nemohli podněcovat další nepokoje v apačské rezervaci v San Carlosu. Cestou se ale jednomu z nich - Massaiovi (Burt Lancaster) podařilo z vlaku utéct. Vrátil se do Arizony a po cestě se něčemu přiučil. Setkal se s indiány kmene Čerokí, kteří žili s bílými v míru a jako rovní s rovnými. Pěstovali obilí. Massai pochopil, že tohle by mohla být cesta, jak zůstat svobodný. Po návratu do San Carlosu byl ale opět zadržen vojáky. Pochopil, že se s nimi nedomluví a znovu uprchl. Tentokrát s ním utekla i dcera náčelníka Santose. Jejich touze žít volně se ale do cesty postavila jedna velká překážka - oddíl pronásledovatelů, kteří chtějí dopadnout posledního svobodného Apače...
