In this 14-karat adventure and the third film in the 007 series, James Bond is pitted against one of his most memorable villains, the power-hungry and infamous international gold smuggler Auric Goldfinger. Goldfinger is not planning to rob Fort Knox; he intends to detonate a nuclear device in the fortress and contaminate the world's gold supply with radiation, making it unusable for hundreds of years...and increasing by tenfold the value of his own gold holdings, making him the richest, most powerful man on Earth.

Special agent 007 comes face to face with one of the most notorious villains of all time, and now he must outwit and outgun the powerful tycoon to prevent him from cashing in on a devious scheme to raid Fort Knox -- and obliterate the world's economy.

The best of the Connery series and arguably the best of the entire franchise.There's something to be said about a series that has lasted over 40 years and is still going strong. James Bond has been there through generations and though it may have had some lapses in quality *cough* A View To A Kill *cough*, it's still persevered and what we have is an endearing series that has stayed close to our hearts. But when we think back on the best Bond films, we can't help but point to Goldfinger, and for good reason. It was the first Bond film to truly establish the foundation to what would become one of the most successful series ever produced. It has everything a great Bond film should have : the amazing locations, evil master criminals with cool names (that includes their bada** henchmen), a doomsday device, a clever story and let's not forget the beautiful Bond girls. We also can't forget Sean Connery, who takes all the outlandish situations and sometimes corny dialogue and makes plausible and totally awesome. Simply put, the visual effects may have aged slightly, but that doesn't stop Goldfinger from being a stellar Bond entry that remains a classic..BensonadayScore: 5/5
