Written and Directed by Darnell Martin, "Cadillac Records" chronicles the rise of Chess Records and its recording artists. The film stars Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Columbus Short as Little Walter, Mos Def as Chuck Berry and Beyoncé Knowles as Etta James. Rounding out the cast are Gabrielle Union, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Cedric The Entertainer, Eamonn Walker and Tammy Blanchard. "Cadillac Records" is produced by Andrew Lack and Sofia Sondervan for Sony BMG Film and Executive Produced by Beyoncé Knowles and Marc Levin.
The story of sex, violence, race and rock and roll in 1950s Chicago, and the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America's musical legends, including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry.

Cadillac RecordsWow! This movie was truly a great. It was amazing to see how Jeffrey Wright transformed from being a bad guy in Shaft to being a sensable loving person in this movie. I loved him, Beyonce and Columbus Short they were exceptional actors in this movie. One million thumbs up on their performance. For those who don't understand the movie you need to watch it to the end to get the real feeling and understanding of how record companies grew from nothing to something with the most brilliant musicians/artists of all times. These musicians/artists did not get the fortunes they were due..Score: 5/5

Music & acting pretty good. writing... not so muchI thoroughly enjoyed this film. The musical performances ranged from decent (Mos Def as Chuck Berry) to phenomenal (Beyonce as Etta James). The actors all did a reasonable job portraying their characters. The story is really too big to be told in a single film. It should have been a miniseries. The only gripe I had was with the writing. Both the plot narrative and the dialogue felt really forced and unnatural. Many of the lines were cheezy. But, over all I think this was a good effort by the cast and crew (except the writers). It's definitely worth watching if you're a history buff. And if you're a fan of blues/RnB/Rock n Roll then you are pretty much guaranteed to enjoy it..Score: 4/5
OMG!!It was a wonderful movie. i already saw it 36 times and i swear i'd watch it again. beyonce did a spectacular job. i knew she had it in her and this was the movie she decided to bring it out in. columbus did a great job. overall it was a great movie..Score: 5/5

Interesting, not GreatBeing somewhat of a soul and blues music historian, the details were reasonably accurate. All-in-all worth a rent and a watch—but something about the Etta James character left me uninterested. Maybe it was the sympathy acting, and maybe the over-the-top singing that didn’t quite meet the ‘Etta James’ voice, but who can meet the Etta James mark? No real criticism of the film — a boring script — but no real Bravos either. Having met Howlin’ and Muddy in the 60s — fairly well done as far as those two go..Score: 3/5
