Hotel Rwanda tells the inspiring story of real-life hero Paul Rusesabagina (Don Cheadle), a hotel manager in Rwanda who used his courage and cunning to shelter over a thousand refugees from certain death. While the rest of the world closed its eyes, Paul opened his heart and proved that one good man can make a difference.
Inspired by true events, this film takes place in Rwanda in the 1990s when more than a million Tutsis were killed in a genocide that went mostly unnoticed by the rest of the world. Hotel owner Paul Rusesabagina houses over a thousand refuges in his hotel in attempt to save their lives.

Tense and incredibly well actedI just watched this movie in school a couple days ago, and I loved it! Don Cheadle's performance is fantastic, and the rest of the cast was also really good. In comparison to other movies that feature violence, this movie is pretty tame, but this movie is not about the action and violence, it shows the incredible story of Paul Ruesesabagina and the moments where the **** hits the fan are just fantastic. AmazingThis movie was phenomenal. I watched it with my 6th period history class, and i cried more than once. It was very emotional to watch what these people had to go through. As soon as we finished watching this, i wanted to run home and rent it to show my family. It is amazing how selfless some people are, and also very inspiring..Score: 5/5
Extraordinary Film! A Must See....This movie was superb in how it told the true story of what was going on & still going on (sadly) in the world. iTunes, another must see that I hope you'll add to the list is "Sometimes In April" another superb film the documented the atrocities in Rwanda. Another must haveIt’s does a good job of telling true facts but also making a great movie. It’s cultural importance to the sub divide of Africans every where. European colonialism brought about new wars and divisions amongst Africans. Here calling and saying the Tutsi are whites(elite class) caused a strong riff that previously didn’t exist. Look at the rage birthed from it. In the United States Europeans calling Africans colored Negro N@gga and Black. Birthed the idea of two ethnic groups light skin VS dark skin. Field Negro bs House Negro. Anytime I watch this movie I empathize to younger and older viewers about identity and foreign identities that causes non natural riffs.Score: 5/5

Very movingWe watched this movie at school and our teacher had to fast-forward some parts because it was too graphic. A movie that will touch every oneI rented this movie for 99 cents, (movie of the week) the best bargain I ever got on iTunes, but the original rent price of $3.99 is definitely worth it. Thought it would be depressing but it was actually upliftingI have to admit that I had put off watching this movie until I felt psyched for it - I thought it would be depressing. It is actually very uplifting - it is great to see how some ordinary people rise to heroism in a crisis. it is tough to watch some parts but it really highlights that the world only cares about oil and things that cause them discomfort- nobody cared about a bunch of Africans. SHAME SHAME SHAME on the UN!! and Shame on Nick Nolte and the Director for the terrible acting and character protrayal of General Romeo Daillaire - he was also a Hero who paid a terrible personal price for being caught between a genocide and a world and UN that really did not give a damn - worse than not giving a damn - they condoned the genocide by doing nothing - they allowed it to happen - watch this movie if yu want to see what really happens behind the scenes!.Score: 5/5
