In 208 A.D., in the final days of the Han Dynasty, shrewd Prime Minster Cao convinced the fickle Emperor Han the only way to unite all of China was to declare war on the kingdoms of Xu in the west and East Wu in the south. Thus began a military campaign of unprecedented scale. Left with no other hope for survival, the kingdoms of Xu and East Wu formed an unlikely alliance.

Visually stunningI loved this movie! It is stunning in action, costumes, and special effects. The movie is in Japanese with English subtitles and very easy to follow. Not RecommendedThis movie is terrible! My wife and I cut it off after no more than 10 minutes. There simply was no storyline. It consisted of a stream of battle scenes using 3rd century Chinese weapons. The heroes (if any) could not be identified - likewise the villians. Epic!!!This is probably the most epic war movie ever made!!! I saw the uncut international version! I was glued to the screen! Battle seens and strategies displayed were amazing! If your a Dynasty Warriors fan, you'll probably make Guan Yu one of your favorite generals to play as because he was a Beast in this movie! I was like "Owwww!" Very Good movie.This movie is Epic. John Woo is a great director.
However, for those of you who find sitting through character development might not enjoy the international version, which is closer to 3 or 4 hours. I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. Only itunes only has the US release.
This release has cut out a lot of character development and other details that make sense of a few places in the shortened version that seemed hard to follow.

Boy was I wrong!I was reluctant to view this movie since I don't speak any amount of Chinese and really wasn't in the mood to read subtitles. Na západe mal vládu v rukách ambiciózny premiér Cao Cao, ktorý používal cisára ako svoju bábku, východ ovládal cisárov strýko Liu Bei. Cieľom Cao Caa bolo zničiť všetky kráľovstvá a prehlásiť seba za jediného vládcu zjednotenej Číny. Jeho protivník Liu Bei sa snažil získať na svoju stranu kráľovstvo Wu, ležiace na juhu zeme, ktorému vládol Sun Quan. Liu Bei k nemu vyslal svojho vojenského poradcu Zhuge Lianga, ktorý sa tu zoznámil s miestnym vicekrálom Zhou Yu, s ktorým sa veľmi spriatelil.

Hrvatski Kina, 208. godina. Usprkos tome što zemljom vlada car Han Xian Di, Kina je podijeljena na mnoge zaraćene države. Ambiciozni premijer Cao Cao iskoristi cara kao marionetu i zarati sa zapadnim kraljevstvom Xu kojim vlada carev ujak Liu Bei. Premijerov konačni cilj je izbrisati sva kraljevstva i postati carem ujedinjene Kine. Liu Bei pošalje svog vojnog savjetnika Zhuge Lianga kao izaslanika u južno kraljevstvo Wu kako bi tamošnjeg vladara, Sun Quana, nagovorio da udruže snage. Tamo on upoznaje potkralja Zhou Yua s kojim se sprijateljuje usprkos ovom krhkom savezu. Saznavši da su dva kraljevstva formirala savez, Cao Cao pošalje vojsku od osamsto tisuća vojnika i dvije tisuće brodova u nadi da će jednim udarcem ubiti dvije muhe. Zhou Yu i Zhuge Liang morati će se osloniti na zajedničku mudrost kako bi uništili mnogo jačeg protivnika.
