An Emasculated Version of a MasterpieceUnfortunately, I must rate this movie as low as possible. To make a long story short, this version -- as advertised -- is the "Director's Definitive Cut". It differs in several key scenes with the the Theatrical version. The differences are, in my opinion and in the opinion of a multitude of other fans (see many of the forums searching for the Theatrical edition on the internet), enough to make this version absolutely terrible when compared to the original.
iTunes previously sold the Theatrical edition of the movie but recently removed it and added this version. I wrote a much longer Review of this movie, which was both politely and intelligently composed, just a few days ago expressing my discontent at this choice and the desire for the other version of the movie. I hope that this review actually makes it to posting. iTunes, please post the theatrical version of this movie -- I assure you, it will sell better than this version!

Don't understand negative reviews for this editionI was unsure whether to watch this on iTunes, because many of the reviews complained about the 'Directors Cut' which apparently degraded the movie. However this edition is the 'Directors Definitive Edition' and I personally thought it was as good as the original I saw (many times), and I couldn't find any criticism about the Definitive Edition online. All the key points that made the movie very powerful for me are there - the scalping, the Clannad music, the speech by Chingachcook at the end.
This version looks great on my large HD tv, better than the old DVD which I have. I rented it because I wanted my children to see it for the first time, and I wanted to make sure the film didn't look aged. It didn't disappoint. What a movie..RiazrizviScore: 5/5

Great Movie … Poor Image QualityFor the SD version of the film: Image quality is very poor. My old VHS tape of the film was crisper. Much of the film takes place at dusk, at night, or in dark caves … and these scenes are just black, with black shadows, and more blackness in the foreground and background. Sokolí oko se však zamiluje do Cory, dcery anglického plukovníka Munroa, kterému přísahal pomstu Magua, krutý náčelník kmene Huronů. Sokolí oko i oba Mohykáni riskují své životy, aby zachránili Coru a Alici v boji proti strašlivé přesile Huronů na straně francouzských kolonistů.
