Immensely Satisfying Action/Romance!"Dead man Down" is going down as one of my new favorite movies.
The acting is a spot on. The story is dense, but not muddled. There is emotional depth to this movie and you can actually feel it. The action is great, stylistic and smart. I also enjoyed the romantic story because it wasn't typical and it was emotionally mature.
Don't take anyone's word for this movie. It may be better than you expect, but then it may not be what you expect (for good or bad).

The critics are usually right, but dead wrong on this film!I'm one that is 90% in line with what the critics usually say, but I'm sorry, they got it dead wrong on this film. Yes, its all about vengeance, but it's an intriguing story all the way through. And, the most exhilarating element of the story was the developing love story, Farrell and Rapace's chemistry was palpable.
However, I did take away 1 star because there was pretty much zero comedy and a script MUST allow for some levity. And, lastly, I think they could have casted a better antagonist than Terrance Howard, even though he's a good actor.
Overall, I was surprised of how much I enjoyed the film and recommend it..SpazmonkeyyScore: 4/5

It's not an action film, or even a thrillerThis is a noir drama. It has thrills. It has action. It's a well acted, well written story for grown ups who don't need non-stop action for a film to be good. It's not a perfect movie, but it's better than 90% of the films studios crank out. It's a slow burn of a story packed with atmosphere and quiet moments of character. This film is shot well. It has great, gritty visuals, with lots of shallow focus camera work that showcases deadly characters pondering life and death and love. I loved it..ManWayUpNorthScore: 5/5
Very EntertainingDon't know why it got such a bad rap. I like the actors/actress. I could watch it again right now. I could watch Colin do just about anything. And I really like the girl from the original version of the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. I thought their chemistry was interesting. Terrance Howard was good. All the supporting actors were good.
