Richard II Film Synopsis
A murderous lust for the British throne sees Richard III descend into madness. Though the setting is transposed to the 1930s, England is torn by civil war, split between the rivaling houses of York and Lancaster. Richard aspires to a fascist dictatorship, but must first remove the obstacles to his ascension—among them his brother, his nephews and his brother's wife. When the Duke of Buckingham deserts him, Richard's plans are compromised.

A Most Beautiful KingThe What's on Stage Awards have recently awarded the Best Actor in A Play Award to David Tennant for his appearance in this production of Richard II, and it is well deserved.
David Tennant marvelously portrays Shakespeare's character Richard II. Capturing within the formal structure of the play a king initially aloof and out of touch with the citizenry, who would fall from power, and obtain the gleam of madness and greater insight, which makes the character truly interesting, (notably when he appears on the stage barefoot). Tennant, indeed, advances the career of the Bard. He consistently portrays the vanity and narcissism of the medieval king, and Richard's separation from his subjects. The hair extensions are also worthy of note, further dramatically differentiating the king from the other characters..TipizenScore: 5/5

The BBC and the Royal Shakespeare Company celebrate 400 years of William Shakespeare and his extraordinary legacy in this hugely ambitious event recorded live at Stratford-upon-Avon. The celebration is hosted by RSC actor and former Doctor Who David Tennant and features stage and screen luminaries Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, and Joseph Fiennes, as well as singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, The English National Opera, The Royal Ballet, and much, much more! The Shakespeare Show tells the story of Shakespeare's life through his own songs, sung by some unexpected faces, often in the places where he lived: from his childhood home, to the church where he was baptized and is now buried. This is a star-studded evening 400 years in the making!
The final season of the series begins where season seven ended, with the sisters having to live under false identities to be free of demons. Each sister remains unhappy and eventually decides to return to their Charmed lives. Paige, however, begins helping a young witch named Billie, who eventually discovers the sisters' magical secrets but agrees to keep them under wraps in exchange for witchcraft training. The sisters also help Billie search for her sister Christy, whom she thinks was abducted by a demon years before. In the sisters' love lives, Paige begins dating Henry Mitchell, Phoebe is sent a Cupid to help her find love and Piper and Leo have marital problems as he adjusts to his new life as a human. Once Billie reunites with Christy at the end of the season, it is apparent that Christy has been brainwashed into thinking the sisters are evil and convinces Billie of the same. They set out to tarnish the Halliwells' reputation, forcing the sisters to get stuck in the underworld. In the series finale, Piper and Leo travel back in time to prevent the destruction of Piper's sisters and of the manor.
Picking up where season six ended, the seventh season begins with the sisters questioning themselves after Gideon's betrayal. Phoebe is such an emotional wreck that her boss lets her take a break and hires a ghost writer--a man with whom she takes awhile to warm up to but eventually develops feelings for. Paige becomes headmistress of Magic School after fighting to keep it open and starts a relationship with Agent Kyle Brody. Phoebe becomes close to a demon named Drake who wants to repent and lead a good life. Piper is forced to take care of Leo, who was also deeply effected by Gideon's attack, while raising her new son, Chris. Leo also confesses that he is one of the Avatars, magical beings who dream of creating a utopia on Earth. Finally, darkness surrounds the sisters in the form Zankou, a demon who had been locked away by The Source. In the season finale, Zankou hatches a plan to absorb all of the sisters' powers. When they realize what Zankou is up to, they are faced with a life-altering decision: sacrifice their powers or their lives.
The primetime soap's fifth season picks up where season four left off: Fallon vanishes following a traffic accident and Dex and Steven bail Alexis out of jail. Eventually Alexis is exonerated before her secret daughter Amanda comes to town and learns that Blake is her father. After Sammy Jo is ordered to leave the mansion, she kidnaps her own son. Dex breaks free from his captors and heads for the chapel, where terrorists have opened fire on the entire wedding party.
