Starts strong, ends a little flabby, but okayA dead soldier’s grieving family welcomes his buddy—polite, sincere and just a little unsettling—bringing their son’s final message of love. There’s a fine build-up to a sense their guest, Dan Stevens, is bad news, and Stevens deftly makes you keep liking him while your suspicions deepen. The last 25 minutes or so borrow to the hilt from the library of B-movie clichés: black SUVs full of balaclava-masked shooters, typhoons of bullets, kids’ terrified flight through a funhouse maze, wimp suddenly finding courage. But thanks to Stevens’ fine work, the letdown doesn’t quite spoil everything, and I was happy enough to have watched it..Score: 3/5
Meh..............The title of my review and coincedentally the title of the movie should say it all.... Meh.. meaning..... "meh.... it was ahhight.... If there were a machine that got my 2 hours of life and rental fee back, I'd do so.." And the reference to the "Guest" title, meant it will only be a "guest" in my movie collection.... Never to be seen again.... Maybe they shoulda traded som more sex for violence and it would be worth watching again.... But probably not... I'm glad it only costed me $3.99 to kill a couple hours I guess???... Its sad when you have to say more sex rather than violence seeing a movie that kept me completely captivated for the extent of the film hasnt happened in years.... Maybe they should just stick to making full on updated for the times remakes of every decent movie and a hit would be a possibility seeing there is no more geniune story lines left.... If guy ritchie is listening I'm still waiting for the " rockin rolla" part deux to come out.... Hurry up about it.....Score: 2/5
Cut-rate Nicolas Winding Refn?The strange 80s-esque synth music throughout and the use of color in the climactic end sequence made me think of the title of this review. Anyway, this was a strange movie. Started interestingly but then a shadowy military contracted corporation conspiracy thing was introduced and I was like "oh nooooo, don't do it". But that's where they went with the story, sadly. Commence a hail of bullets. Then devolve into schlocky horror. They explained David's character motivation with some very sketchy, far-fetched "medical experiment" - he was "programmed" to behave the way he did, I see! It just falls apart as it goes on. BUT. BUT! Dan Stevens is very good as a weirdo, very compelling to watch, and very hot. So there's that..Score: 3/5

One of my 2014 Favorites!!!Great movie with a great lead. Yes this movie is a 80s throwback slasher film with a bit of dark comedy and mystery. And for what it is its perfect. Sadly if your expecting a mainstream flick this is not it. It's dark, violent and funny. Saying it's bad is just bad reviewing!!!!.Score: 5/5
So 80's, I love it!Amazing soundtrack, Check. Douche High School Kids, Check. Corny lines, check. Takes place during High School Halloween, Check Check!!! Movie is fun. This is not some over the top action movie. This is a thriller. Nothing more, and nothing less. The trailer does a horrible job showcasing it as a action film when is not. If you enjoy thrillers with a homage to 80's films and amazing soundtrack that works well with the scenes, you will enjoy the ride. The ending for the film is so LOL, is a classic on my book already..Score: 5/5
Tomato Meter is Broken!Don’t do it! This might be an acceptable 20 minute film school project but 90% on Rotten Tomatoes? No way! I don’t know what movie they saw but this was a waste of time.
