Racism Trumps TripI’ll watch this movie, when there is a “White History Month” and a “White Television Channel”. Reverse Racism reversed," Black & White” “In Balance” “In Life”. Becoming “Earthlings” as one culture, speaking the same language, seems 99.9% impossible to me, and this movie backs that up. Peace, ehh, that’s another 99.9% impossibility. Only “Earthlings” will have a chance to “Reach The Stars” but HATE, GREED, ARROGANCE, & VIOLENCE must cease to exist, hence 99.9% IMPOSSIBLE. End Transmission..Score: 1/5
No prisoners taken...After two minutes, this movie had me laughing so hard, I knew I was in for a treat. I loved this film. If you enjoy sharp writing -- and this is stage-worthy stuff, relentlessly smart -- and sharp commentary, then you should see this. None of its characters and none of its audience make it out the doors unscathed. Mordant satire, roaring farce, and a whole lot of uncomfortable fun to watch (just writing this makes me want to see it again). I thought a couple of the young leads were really impressive. Pretty accurate depiction of college todayAnyone that argues that it's "reverse-racist" or offensive really misses the point of the movie: this is a common experience on college campuses. Every class, dorm, every single public space has at least one (or more) white person that would rather throw a hissy fit in the face of criticism; and that hissy fit almost ALWAYS ends up being blatantly racist or sexist despite also claiming that they are not racist or sexist people. To make matters worse, instances of black-face parties or general racial tensions boiling over with protests ARE common and perfectly believable scenarios. Since many colleges go through extensive (and expensive) lengths to protect their reputation, these instances are often covered up and under-reported (especially when fraturnities are involved). That's not "fake news", it's the norm (although on a lesser scale for most campuses, like individual crimes or even just heated arguments). Having freshly come out of college, this movie offers a very real "second side of the coin" that I could easily observe and remember, but never truly experience or even seriously consider: because I am white. For that reason alone, I highly recommend this as a must-see for students, professors, and graduates; and their parents..Score: 5/5
