When a secret base, abandoned by the original builders of the Stargates, is found buried in the ice of Antarctica, the newly formed Stargate Atlantis team is born. The team's discovery leads to a daring expedition to the distant Pegasus galaxy, where they encounter a primitive human civilization and a sinister new enemy that threatens human life everywhere. The Stargate Atlantis mission is headed by Dr. Elizabeth Weir, a specialist in diplomatic relations. Her political savvy is balanced by the bravado of her military counterpart, Major John Sheppard, a courageous pilot. Rounding out the crew are Lt. Aiden Ford, Sheppard's second-in-command, Dr. Rodney McKay, a clever and quick-witted astrophysicist, and Teyla, a beautiful young leader among the primitive alien civilization that the Atlantis team encounters.

Good show, decent spin-offThis show is entertaining to watch, but doesn't stand up to SG-1, and deviates little from its predecessor in plot, characters, etc. Side note: the iTunes episode descriptions are all wrong....Score: 4/5

The Wraith & Replicants. That is All.I bought 5 seasons of Stargate Atlantis, and the only interesting parts are the Wraith and the Replicants. The City is dull, and considering it's a city - they missed the opportunity to show a domed park, or stadiums, shopping malls, massive entertainment complexes... ANYTHING - always the same dozen rooms and nothing else. The acting is good, the writing OK, the plot lines flat. SciFi level special effects, good for what they are... Overall, Atlantis just leaves you with a Meh. feeling. It's OK..Score: 3/5
Now i know why this spinoff got cancelledThe scientist in most episodes wouldnt know how to turn on mute even when told to...like in the episode eye. mccay and the other one as well.mounting a rescue mission with a scientist in tow that wouldnt keep quiet will reveal your location.just bad... the first episode was like good and the second as well...the rest have been done already..Score: 1/5

Wonderful Adventure SeriesI got Season 1 Parts 1 & 2 as a free download. I was really hooked by this ongoing adventure and bought all five seasons, enjoyed every episode. Todd the Wraith was indeed a character when he (it?) showed up. A really enjoyable adventure series! Enjoying it the second time through..Score: 5/5

Recommended ViewingIf you only download three or four episodes from this season, these are my recommendations: Hide and Seek: some great Rodney-moments, an introduction to Atlantis, and a spooky "bad guy". Thirty-Eight Minutes: great acting had by all, in a classic "stuck in an enclosed space about to die" episode. The Storm/The Eye (two-parter): lots of action and suspense, plus answering the question "what if a huge storm on an ocean planet were to hit Atlantis?" I also recommend Letters from Pegasus and The Siege Parts 1 and 2, but it helps if you're already into the show, in which case you're probably going to watch the whole season anyways..Score: 5/5

Tradin Commercials for Freebies!!!I would like to suggest offering these shows with the commercials inserted for free, I don't mind some commercials if allows my TV content to be free, I liked the old days where over the air TV was free.... Stargate AtlantisFinally, some decent TV on the Canadian iTunes. Our movie section is good but the TV Show section has been pretty crappy. All we need now are some decentt TV Shows. Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, CSI, Dexter, X-Files, Law and Order, House, Heroes, Soprano's, Weeds. All we need now are more quality TV in our TV Show Section.
