10,000 BCThis movie was action packed and definitely had a lot of dazzling visuals. Though the plot was descent it did take ideas from other movies, and nothing about geography, the animal species present, or the people present are supported by history. Many elements of the movie came from different time periods collecting into one giant conglomerate. 10,000 B.C.The movie could have been a nice vid, except for technical presentation. The luarches, freezes, and audio not matching the video picture were enough to give one a headache trying to watch. At this rate a waste of money. I still feel the same way even after it was re-downloaded thanks to iTunes people. the freezes and launges weren't so bad but what was there made it hard to watch. Really Good MovieThis is a great movie. The storyline is solid, the roles are well played, the cinematograhpy is excellent, and it all adds up to an immersive and intriguing movie. Its semi-fictional geographical and historical setting (which appears to take place in the Africa and Egypt regions) is also thought provoking, allowing one to imagine more readily what life could have been like for our early ancestors, when even technology like nautical ships (standard stuff today) must have seemed awe-inspiring when it was witnessed for the first time. Note the use of the word semi-fictional: I'm no paleontologist or history buff, so I can't speak to the accuracy of the animals and technology displayed in the film as it relates to the time of 10,000 BC. However, being made for Hollywood, I would suspect it isn't 100% accurate. That said, still a great movie..Bestia-peludaScore: 5/5

Wow ok.....Ok see if your into pre-historic things then of course it makes sence but some people just went to watch a movie. That's the thing.... Better than it looksThis was the movie that I declared I would never see. But I got tempted by renting it for 4.99 and the wife was away and I had time to kill. A backdrop more intriguing than the subject of the film...10,000 BC cleary uses as a backdrop the highly controversial theory of the original proto-civilization developped by Graham Hancock. A mysterious, long gone civilization which, according to Hancock, is responsible for laying out the foundations to monumental architectural complexes accross the planet, from Gizah, to Nazca... long before the dates found in "official" history schoolbooks. The film shows (with absolutely stunning visuals!) the Gizah complex under construction in 10,000 BC, under the impusle of a terrifying ruler who reigns over a population of slaves living in fear of his well kept secret knowledge. It portrays an advanced proto-dynastic Egyptian environment, as a legacy of an even more ancient civilization. The theme of the original civilization, with its mysterious ending under unknown circumstances in a period of drastic climate change, would have been inspiring enough to be the actual subject of the film. However, the director has chosen to only use this theme as a backdrop, and focus instead on a rather classic adventure story. A young cro-magnon man follows the footsteps of his long gone father into the unknown, to rescue his kidnapped tribe members (and the love his life) from the impending lifetime enslavement awaiting them in proto-dynastic Egypt. His initiatory journey will lead him to meet new races, discover new regions and climates, and establish himself as the great leader announced by prophecies. Despite the classic narrative choices, the inconsistencies, and the somewhat foreseeable conclusion, the film is still enjoyable and is served by extremely polished visuals. One wonders however, why the choice was made to leave so many questions unanswered about the context, in order to focus on a very classic adventure tale....IAPALFEU O'LACScore: 3/5

SadI seem to recall the director making good films. 10,000 BC is a waste of money and time. The story is not interesting - poorly recycled Von Daniken nonsense combined with a half-hearted attempted at either Apocalypto or Quest for Fire. The sad part is, the trailer looked like a lot of fun. Instead we get bad accents, bad action and turgid story-telling...sigh. Don't bother..DPH#1Score: 1/5

Keep your money in your pocketWow,one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The historical inaccuracies, ethnically ambigous tribe, bad acting and weak special effects conspire to make this movie nothing but a bowl of pap. O.K. Movie.This movie was a basic action movie with an acceptible story-line. I found that the cast did a very good job, but the story is a little weak. But, for the action part, it's intense and a bit suspensful. Something that caught my eye is the dramatically changing environments. They go from snow-covered hills, to complete desert, to deep jungles, and then again to deserts. But the movie is a very beautiful film graphic wise. If you want just to have a good time with some friends with another action movie, buy it or rent it. But if you're looking for a very good action movie with a deep story-line: KEEP LOOKING!.PiatarScore: 3/5

True storyI saw this movie in the theatre opening night, after the movie had finished and the lights came up uncharacteristically nobody got up and left the theater.
