Two brothers in the period immediately following the Civil War return home to discover that their family, including a younger brother and one of the brothers' fiancee, have been kidnapped by a marauding band of rebel guerrillas who refuse to accept the defeat of the Confederacy. Aided by their uncle, they set out to rescue the family.
The Shadow Riders Film Synopsis
After starring in "The Sacketts", Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott team up again but this time as Mac and Dal Traven, in a movie based on a classic Louis L'Amour novel. They are brothers, who meet up at the end of the Civil War fighting on opposite sides. They go home only to find their family in dire need and their sisters and brother kidnapped by ruthless raiders. They set out to rescue their family.

Na svědomí to má bývalý major jižanské armády, který chce unesené osoby prodat, za utržené peníze získat zbraně a dál pošetile pokračovat v boji. A tak do Spojených států přijíždí mexický překupník, aby cenný náklad odvezl do Mexika. Nejvíc ze všech se mu líbí Katy, ale z obavy, že by mu způsobila problémy, ji obchodník nechá na pobřeží. Tam ji naštěstí najdou její bratři, musí ale zachránit i ostatní unesené ženy.
