Slimey, yet, Satisfying.As someone who has read the books and have watch this season I thought it potrayed the key points accurately enough. Yes there are alot of changes that might have dihard fans fustrated. However I personally like the fact they changed it up a bit. It leaves me so of addicted because I don't know whats going to happen, even though I have an idea. I also have completely different additude towards certain characters. In the books I was rather indeferent to Serena. Now,I like her and want to to continue on the right path. I used to think Jenn was really boring, not anymore. Only thing worth watching! Please don't hate!This series is very entertaining and fun to watch. It's not taken over by the lame things TV producers often add. The actors are very talented, so you should definately give it a try. Also, please do not put it down because they are not like the books. They made improvements and adapted it for TV! THIS SHOW is AWESOMEI bought the while season and i love the first season! I miss the fresh new drama from the first time when the show first started out. When Blair found out Serena slept with Nate. When Dan is starting a relationship with Serena. When Blair let's out someone secret out and so on. Typical Blair anyways. I missed the first season and I bought it when it was $34.99. Then 2 weeks later it was on sale for I think $24.99. Or maybe $19.99. I wish I waited a little longer but how would I have known. overall its a great show! I even got my boyfriend into this and vampire diaries! Lol .Score: 5/5

You have to seperate the book series from the show...I have been a huge fan of the Gossip Girl book for years, and have read all of the books. So naturally I had extremely high expectations of the show, and when I first watched the pilot episode, along with the following couple of episodes, I must admit I was not at all impressed and stopped watching for a while. But then I started watching it again mid-way through the first season, and I was glad I decided to give it a chance because I realized that it actually is a good show! If you are a fan of the show but have never read the books, then I definitely recommend that you read the entire series (amazing books!), and if you are a fan of the book series and completely hate the show, or have never seen the show yet, i'll tell you this: you have to learn to seperate the show from the book series because yes, there are quite a bit of differences between the two, which is why I was unhappy with the show at first. There a few storylines that are the same as in the book, and many that aren't (but again, this is the tv show, and obviously their going to have to change storylines and such or else they'd run out of material), some characters are completely different than the way they are described in the books (Jenny doesn't have huge boobs, and is instead blonde and skinny; Vanessa has tan skin and curly hair and doesn't attend Constance, instead of being a black wearing, shaven-headed rebel; Rufus Humphrey is a good looking former musician instead of the very eccentric father we all know from the books; and dan isn't the chain smoking, pale and scruffy poet loving boy we all remember), but with that being said, I think if you give them a chance, you will learn to embrace these different characters like I did. and I don't think they did a completely horrible job, after all, I think they picked the perfect people to play Lily, Blair, Chuck, Nate, and Serena. And in the book series, some couples that I felt either didn't make sense, or just didn't fit together, work on the tv show (for example: Chuck and Blair, Dan and Serena). And really, the show is awesome and completely addicting, and just very well done in my opinion. Give it a chance! =).Score: 5/5

Books are betterI started reading the "gossip girl" series a couple months ago, and I knew that I had to start watching the shows. I have only watched the 1st 2 episodes, and I am pretty pleased. Sure, the books are better but the show is close. Over all, I recommend this TV show to anyone who likes the "gossip girl" novels..Score: 4/5

Show Coming Back on April 21st!Great show! Already got picked up for a second season! By far the BEST new fall show (it has also suprisingly got great reviews too!). The cast is great, the location is awesome, the clothes are amazing, and music is wonderful. I just want to remind everyone to WATCH THE SHOW LIVE on MONDAYS at 8PM on the CW!! The show is hugely popular online, itunes, DVR, etc...BUT it's not getting great live ratings. So if you live in the US, watch the show live..because we don't want the show to be cancelled. Buy this... Just not from iTunes!Having never watched Gossip Girl before I bought the pilot of iTunes to see if I'd like it. I thought it was ok from the pilot but after watching more of it... it just gets better! However, I bought the full DVD boxset from Amazon for around £16 - why pay the ridiculous amount of money that iTunes is charging when you dont even get the series in physical form?
