Awesome!!As the credits rolled at the end of episode one I found myself adding the rest of the season to my shopping cart and cursing my broadband connection for it’s inability to download any faster! Powers Boothe’s Cy Tolliver is a perfect villain, and is only outdone by Ian McShane’s Al Swearengen. I couldn’t wait for someone to gun Swearengen down for the first several episodes, and as the show progressed I was surprised to realize that I was actually rooting for him. Swearengen is the perfect antagonist for Timothy Oliphant’s Seth Bullock, who plays a peace loving badass wishing to conduct his business and escape a violent past (highly unlikely in this town). This is by far the most violent, profane television show I can recall, and the absence of any nudity is odd in comparison…. No matter though, as the old time english dialect and slang, profanity included, is entirely believable. Take extra care to keep younger children away from this show.. My only complaint is the price. iTunes has really put the screws to us with the extra cost, but as much as I hate to admit it, it is worth it. This almost prompted me to apply a 4 star rating, but I just couldn’t do it. Deadwood is a 5 star show, regardless of the price. A Note to iTunes: Don’t get too cocky!
