2nd review after the first 4 shows (or so)Well, there is NO DOUBT that this show is NOT what it was before. Sharon Raydor is definitely NOT Brenda Lee Johnson. I thought it was going to be a BAD thing, but just like Brenda, Sharon seems more calm about things, and also seems much more calculating than Brenda was. Brenda had a talent at getting things done, as does Sharon, but they just have different ways of doing it, but I like BOTH ways. The show seems to be much more serious now than it used to be, you don't see the joking and such going on between the people in the Unit, but they are affective, VERY affective. I also like Sykes MUCH better than Gabriel, she is just as bright as he was, but she doesn't come across as haughty, like Gabriel did. I do miss Brenda and hope she will return from time to time, but as we thought they would be using Fritz as much as they did before, now his character is rarely seen if at all. I wonder if he won't just be the occasional return character that Brenda is...but Pope, I love the guy who plays his character, but I never really liked Pope that much anyway, so good riddance. The show is growing on me and it does have a different feel to it but I like it, on it's own merits. I am glad they changed the name. Unlike the CSI's and the Law & Order shows, who changed characters as often as they did their underwear there, especially on the Vegas show, but I digress, this show deserves it's own identity as Major Crimes, and I think it will do well with it's new format. This is my 2nd review and the last unless they start changing things even more, to the point I can't take it anymore.Score: 5/5
Time Is Telling - Give this one a few episodes and it will win you overI wasn't sure when this one picked up where The Closer somewhat abruptly left off, but over the course of the season, Sharon's character is becoming more established and the relationships in the series have grown on me. I find myself looking forward to the next episode the way I used to look forward to The Closer. It's walked that fine line of maintaining some familiarity from the previous show, while marvelously making itself unique. It's now one of my favorite shows....Score: 5/5

Season Pass for all seasonsPossibly one of the strongest casts on TV. Love the addition of Rusty. This story line shound NOT have worked, but they managed to pull it off. Amazing. The only problem is making sure viewers truly understand THIS ISN'T THE CLOSER. Sharon is the main star, Rusty is her family. Kyra wanted to retire, please respect that and see this show as a standalone. Brenda isn't coming back. At risk of sounding snarky, neither is the cast of Battle Star Galactica. Let Brenda go and you may come to the same conclusion I did: as a while: Major Crime is a better show with more opportunities for the rest of the cast far less gore. I won't deny: I liked The Closer, I love Major Crimes..Score: 5/5
Time will tellI am a stead fast loyal fan of the closer and I think Brenda was the best. At first I did not like Cpt Raider but learned to tolerate her because of her mission in the department. Now with her at the helm I am comparing this show with Star Trek and Cpt Kirk vs Cpt Picard at first I thought this new Cpt would not survive a season. Only time will tell!!.Score: 3/5

Love Cpt RaydorMore than I could have expected, I love Captain Raydor. This new show has all the excitement if The Closer, but is so much smarter. Brenda Lee's tendency to play loose with the rules had gotten to the point of making me pretty queasy by the end of the series. It's great to see someone work hard to get terrific results while staying loyal to important values too..Score: 5/5
I will be watching Major CrimesWhile I will miss Brenda Lee Johnson, I am so happy that Flynn and Provenza will still be around. Matter of fact, I hope all the others remain with the show too. I like my "cops and robbers" shows but I require at least a touch of humor in my shows and this one usually comes through for me..Score: 5/5
