Time will tellI am a stead fast loyal fan of the closer and I think Brenda was the best. At first I did not like Cpt Raider but learned to tolerate her because of her mission in the department. Now with her at the helm I am comparing this show with Star Trek and Cpt Kirk vs Cpt Picard at first I thought this new Cpt would not survive a season. Only time will tell!!.Flea3300Score: 3/5

Great Show!Taking over from The Closer was a smooth transition, especially with the cast. However, the show could be better if the storyline had less personal content time spent on Rusty's problems (which could still be condensed to show Sharon's compassionate side!) and more time spent on the theme - 'Major Crimes' - the solving of the crimes, the teams work and different involvement in the case, and maybe just a little more 'drama' in the storyline. The human and comedic side of Sharon's departmental team is great but could be expanded too! I get the impression that the shows writers are struggling to come up with good ideas for each episode and should be wary of all the new shows coming out that could eventually put an end to this otherwise great show!.EnglibritScore: 5/5

Simply the BestThis show is simply the best around. It's smart, funny, and incredibly interesting. Season One focuses more on Rusty Beck and telling his story of where he comes from, also the blending of Sharon as the head officer in the division. Fantastic. A Worthy SuccessorMajor Crimes has really done a brilliant job of continuing the style of The Closer while growing it beyond the character of Brenda and her strengths to revolve around Sharon as the lead character. It is great to see the original cast sticking with the show and one would hope that Brenda can be coerced back on occasion for a sort of crossover / reunion episode. With Fritz still there and her working "just around the corner somewhere" it seems logical for her to be seen every once in a while. I was concerned after the first few episodes that the new "deal making" format might get stale but they've really not let that happen. Story lines have remained strong and the characters and acting are top notch as ever. I'm sad to see the first season end. Can't wait for the second..Than'lScore: 5/5

I LOVE CAPTAIN RAYDOR!!I was crazy about Brenda Leigh, and when Captian Raydor joined "The Closer", I was immediately drawn to her character. So subtle, but caring, distant, yet concerned. And she's certainly not failed to carry on these traits in "Major Crimes". I love the relationships she's developing with the 'old crew'. Especially with Prevenza!:-) Rusty is a great addition to the lives of all concerned, and it adds a deeper dimension to all the characters, as we watch them draw closer to him. I hope he's around for the entire season! But hats off to Mary McDonnell, a superb actress, and to her character Captain Raydor!!.SpotpattonScore: 5/5

I will be watching Major CrimesWhile I will miss Brenda Lee Johnson, I am so happy that Flynn and Provenza will still be around. Matter of fact, I hope all the others remain with the show too.
