Carnegie hires a hatchet man, Henry Frick, to help him achieve his goal of besting Rockefellar. The partnership seems promising, but Carnegie does not know that Frick is running his factories far beyond capacity. Frick cuts corners and soon the pair is responsible for the biggest manmade disaster America has ever seen: the Johnstown flood, which claims more than 2000 lives. Carnegie hates being disliked, and his initial impetus to seek revenge becomes the furthest thing from his mind..

AMAZING!!!Best T.V. show I've ever watched. If I was able to I would rate 10 stars! "When I started in the oil business there was chaos, and I brought order. It was done the way it was because that's the way it had to be done. No one complained when I brought light into every home; no one complained when I provided thousands of jobs. Oil is what this country runs on. You call it monopoly I call it enterprise..Score: 5/5
Great short family series.I’ve rewatched this series half a dozen times now. Provides a simple and easy-to-understand storyline of how this country’s industries started..Score: 5/5
Thinks you are a goldfishThe producers really must think lowly of us watchers, considering the fact that almost a third of every episode is repetition of what happened before the break. They really must think we have the memory of goldfish. Otherwise a great series..Score: 2/5

Propaganda trashThis is a fantasy that erases the real builders of America: Native Americans, Blacks, poor white workers, Asians, and Latinos. Shame on the History (😒) channel.Score: 1/5
Great series, very annoying paceThe material contained here is really good and very interesting and I really had to watch from beginning to end the whole season in one weekend! The reason I do not give it 5 stars is that the producers saved themselves at least one full episode in the time they take in reexplaining everything after each break (where ads were supposed to be). I would understand somewhat of a recap at the start of a new episode, but after each break? Come on! Do the producers assume we are sooo dumb that every 12 mins they need to give us a 2-minute recap of the previous 12 minutes? It felt sometimes like an episode of Dora the Explorer and as the season advances it gets worse and more annoying. The other issue I saw was the repurposing of scenes. Though I understand this is History Channel and not HBO, using the exact same scene to represent Oil Pipeline in one episode and a car factory in another seemed way beyond cheap to me. All in all, very entertaining, but annoying to stick through their endless recaps of what you just saw..Score: 4/5
