Funny and not afraid to confront racismThe first Asian American focused comedy series since Margaret Cho’s disastrous All American Girl. I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes, the writing is smart with a couple of laugh out loud lines and the cast uniformly talented. I can relate to the story being an immigrant from Taiwan, and feeling like an outsider with the pressure to succeed and please your parents. Certain stereotypes can be a little broad, but many of the small details ring true..Score: 5/5

Fresh off the Boat!!!Finally! A show i can relate to! Not only that but the writing is great! The actors are talented and just about anybody can relate! Late to the partyWitty writing and excellent delivery make this show one of my new favorites. As a 2nd generation Asian American, I like how this show can poke fun at some of the experiences we (Chinese Americans) have (i.e. grocery shopping in Chinatown vs any corporate American supermarket). It's also refreshing to see a different perspective of what an American family looks like on screen. Overall great series and I can't wait to watch the 2nd and 3rd seasons!.Score: 5/5

Love!Love this show! Set in 1995, baby boomers still had kids at home and those now-grown to middle aged kids remember all of that 90's stuff too. Very well done, great acting, funny and pointed.
