I have never found a movie or t.v. show that engaged me and immersed me the way books do-until Call the Midwife! Superbly cast, magnificantly acted, beautifully written, each episode is astonishing in it's ability to teleport you to another place,another time ,another life. Each character faultlessly portrayed-believable,human,flawed,transcendent. I am saying this for the first and probably,only time in my life: the show is better than the book..Score: 5/5
