Finding himself in a new era, and approaching retirement, Indy wrestles with fitting into a world that seems to have outgrown him. A heartfelt, exciting closing chapterWhat makes this movie stand out, and it was a big risk to do this, is the fact that the murky emotional material is just as powerful, if not more so than the plot-based MacGuffin stuff. The tired trope of the broken aged heroThere are a lot of ways a film could explore the end of Indy’s adventures without making him a weak, angry, and broken man. It’s almost like Mangold thought he had to recreate Logan in Indy form.
I won’t spoil it but the part with Helena punching Indy was so stupid I couldn’t believe it. Disney has too much social justice politics entered into many of their films…, this is another one that it didn’t work.

Loved it!What a wonderful surprise after the painfully lame Crystal Skull. This time they get it right. It’s got all the elements of the first three, while beautifully incorporating an older Indy.
