LameHaving worked in an embassy, not to mention participation with Marines on evacuation drills, I have to say that this really fails to show any nuance in what is a complex and quite potentially real situation. Solid actors are squandered on a lame script. The idea that Marines would take fire like that, and then mow down dozens of civilians is deeply flawed. After all this time...This movie is still as good as it was eight years ago. A very real look at terrorism and corruption, at times it seems that the courtroom defense put on by Childers is just as chilling and exciting as the flashbacks Hodges continues to have through the course of the film. The story follows Colonel Hodges (Samuel L. Jackson) as he is forced to order his squad to open fire on a Yemeni demonstration in front of the U.S. Embassy. The result is nearly two hundred dead or injured Yemeni citizens, and the beginnings of an international incident. To make peace with Yemen, the Marines decide to use Hodges as an example, and hang him out to dry. Hodges' longtime friend, Terry Childers (Tommy Lee Jones) steps in to defend him, but what he finds in his investigation threaten to lead the Colonel to a guilty verdict. First reviewThis is a very good movie, the war scenes are graphic but realistic, and the tale of these two men fighting to prove themselves innocent of a violation of the rules of engagement is heartbraking. Samuel l. Jackson had to make a choice during his raid of the us embassy in the middle east, and he realized the rioting civilians were armed, the only other person with a visual of the armed civilians is shot leaving congress thinking he commited a mass massacre. the persecutors however play a little dirty in theyre court prep, this is what makes the politics part interesting, anyways i would totally reccemend this movie to anyone, and it probly shouldnt be R, i saw it when i was 11 and i wasnt that scarred..EnzockScore: 5/5

Best movieI think everyone should watch the movie. it is intense, educational. i think people watched the movie should realize that any actions take in war should have greater extent of tolerance than it happens in normal life. the top priority in war is to survive, only just you but also your warmates. Any supicious action a soldier found in a war must have right to defend, even though later on who found out which was not true.
