On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world's most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Cosio). Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M interrogate Mr. White, who reveals that the organization that blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

A new Bond fan (D.Craig)I was extremely hesistant before deciding to watch this movie bec of the poor reviews. Taking the chance, I find myself love it v much, after Casino Royale of course. The story is hollow, but that is Ian Fleming. The actors, esp. Daniel Craig, shine. He is an excellent actor, ableto deliver emotions so intense yet so reserved that lift the movie. Of course Judy Dench is great. I didn't quite understand the story with Vesper fully until after watching it a few times. Highly recommend..The new Bond fan (D.Craig)Score: 5/5

A poor interpretation of BondIf you loved this movie you likely don't understand what makes 007 so great for so many. I think it is more likely your review is bought and paid for. Look at the reviews: Loved it! Fresh! Greatest Bond ever! James Bond explores emotions he has never had before! The truth is that is baloney. This movie largely abandons the clichés that have etched 007 in my psyche and make him one the most beloved characters of all time. If you love Bond of course you have to see it but the more you love Bond the more this will sting. This is the only Bond movie that falls into rent first category for me. There is no romantic entanglement for James Bond in this movie! How can you have James Bond without that? You can't. Read the other reviews that are certainly more creditable: Disappointing! Worst Bond ever! Daniel Craig can't be faulted here. He knocked it out of the park in Casino Royale. Is it the director's fault? Sadly too many are too blame. Editing, story, script. A lot of people forgot what they were working on and thought they knew better. Did I mention no romantic entanglement? Next time start with THAT and a villain befitting James Bond and work backwards from there. Please stop the phony reviews..K.TroyScore: 1/5

The Dark Side of Bond?To read some of the complaints about this Bond being too dark, not glamorous enough and just out of character, I say watch the Bond-Grant battle on the train in From Russia With Love. The best Bond films are always dark. The silly throw away nonsense of Roger Moore (excepting For Your Eyes Only) is not Bond. Bond is dark. He is a killer- not a comedian or a nanny. The brutality in this film is spot on, as are the emotional high points that culminate in one of the fiercest and most brutal Bond finales ever. This film works like a Bond novella, it is short, quick and bloody and carries a great deal of energy throughout. Just because we want killers, when they are ours, to be something other than their true nature is our own short coming. Our loathing of the blunt instrument will never overwhelm our acquiesence to that deadly weapon being used when it is in our "national interests". Bond kills. Often brutally. Why are people surprised? Highly recommended action and a fine addition to the Bond canon..CaveDweller1Score: 5/5

So UnderratedWhile not as Hollywood as the other films, the genuine themes are much more impactful than the other Craig films. The need for resources, particularly water and oil set a unique realism and threatening nature than the other films in his group. We’re more likely to fight over water than the possibility of a SPECTRE-like organization actually existing, so it’s always refreshing to see how filmmakers can explore those themes while still delivering a visual feast. I’m a bit saddening that many viewers still think of it as the weakest link in the current generation. It definitely is quite smart, despite what some say about the film. It's ok, but i expected moreIt's a good movie, but you will watch it once and won't want to watch it the second time. the plot wasn't unique in this movie... that's what disappointed me... daniel craig did an awesome job again, fun and good acting... I wanted to like it, but the hectic editing ruined it for meIt has great set pieces, an intriguing story, Craig gives it his all with a badass Bond girl...but this may very well be one of the most poorly edited films I’ve seen.
