One of my favorite filmsGondry was able to get some real gems out of Chomsky. What an amazing interview and animation of their conversation. The price was well worth it and I would highly recommend this beautiful piece to anyone who is interested in Noam Chomsky and or linguistics and cognitive science. I really enjoyed the animation and the sound track that went along with it. 5 stars!.Score: 5/5

Is the Man Who Is Intelligent Worth Listening To?Superficial, disorganized discussion. No focus, just a scattershot of what would be the first 5 minutes of a university lecture on topics such as language, identity, epistemology, etc. Ask anyone who has given this a positive review to expound upon anything in here and I'm sure you will receive lots of stuttering faltering non-words: 1) Because it's elevated, but 2) Because explanations and investigations are so paltry as to provide unthinking lemmings with very little to regurgitate. Also, a majority of the animation is rather poor and does little to articulate beyond what is achieved already by words alone. I only give it two stars because a few questions Chomsky raised initiated me to pause the movie and ponder for a few minutes..Score: 2/5

Scatter ShotThe film goes between Chomsky's life and ideas randomly and is hard to follow. But, it still is nice to get a glimpse into the mind of someone like Noam Chomsky. The animation is hand drawn and helps to convey the conversation some of the time, but mostly, it is artistic flare..Score: 3/5

Don’t want it to endThe movie is just as much about Chomsky’s inspiring life and work as it is about Gondry’s nervous desire to do it justice. The result is an entertaining, warming, and informative film — the best I have seen in quite a while..Score: 5/5

DisappointedI was not impressed with this and feel cheated out of the rental fee. Not knowing entirely what to expect, I had hoped to leave the experience richer and grow my understanding on thought and linguistics. I found the animations childish and was not able to relate to the film. The few times my interest was peaked was for the actual live footage. Most of it was random and skipped around making it difficult to follow. I would not recommend this one..Score: 2/5

영화 제목은 언어학에 한 획을 그은 저서『 통사구조론』(1957)에서‘ The man who is tall is happy.’ Con Artist summary, synopsis, reviews
Con ArtistDocumentary2011

From the beginning, Mark Kostabi pronounced his raison d'être as an artist widely: to take all the cash and all the glory. A superstar during the frantic glory of the 1980s New York art world, Kostabi has unapologetically signed and sold thousands of paintings made by painters/ laborers who attest to not having seen Kostabi paint for years. His practice reveals a shrewd critique of valuation in the modern art world, but when his purposeful skewering turned to ruthlessly biting the hands that fed him, he was rapidly jolted from the position of daring darling to the unspeakable persona non grata. This energetic, punk-fueled docu-comedy traces the meteoric rise and fall of a bizarre visionary and the art market that birthed him, but director Michael Sládek focuses mostly on present-day Kostabi and his obsession with getting back on top. Interviews with art world figures and vintage clips of Kostabi's outlandish television appearances are entertaining and insightful, but Con Artist's best moments come in the abundant tag-along footage Sládek shoots with the artist. While getting as close as one can to a man who's been called "the black hole of irony," Sládek also begs an interrogation into what American culture is based on, and what it takes to pop its bubble.
